As Singha said when we were at school everybody had their own WAFL jumper.

I think you’re on the money mike. It’s alright to bitch and complain, but we’ve got adjust to a changing world. The younger generation want the fastest and best in sports.
For me, I have a passion for both my teams - as can be attested in my games room full of blue and white, blue and gold! The one thing that I don’t like is anyone who judges a person from above - I’m “holier than thou”!!!!

BC wrote: If we take what BH said at face value then I agree with him 100%. For those supporters who walked away completely from the WAFL and never to return to follow an AFL club then they never were and never will be true WAFL fans and I know a lot of them even my own relatives. To those like 58 who follow both, then good on them...I have no problems with that as I keep an eye on Freo as well.

Well I haven’t “walked away” from EF. I can’t remember how long I have been a member, how many annual donations and how many shirts etc I have purchased. I just take exception to those that feel they are qualified to be judge on supporters especially when they don’t know the people they are talking about.

Mike then if that is the case why has he taken offence to what I posted?
One thing virtually all of us have in common on this site is our love of the WAFL and our particular WAFL club I would have thought, although I do know of some that completely walked away to follow one of the 2 wa based franchises in the expanded vfl comp (and to me they are flogs for completely abandoning their local WAFL club).
I did repeat if you walked away from your WAFL club and the WAFL back then you are not a true WAFL supporter, if he hasnt then what is his actual problem or concern?

Don't worry too much mate hahaha - sometimes it pays to actually read what is written
oh hang on that's just a little bit too hard isn't it :)

Another modern day Aristotle.....

Totally hearing you 58....each to their own....Lot of folk in our generation follow an AFL team and a WAFL team....some just the latter, some just the former. The WAFL died as a comp when the Eagles joined the VFL and more so when Freo formed....a lot of folk want to cling on to the past, because it was a huge happy part of their lives back then and perhaps still to this day...no probs with that either...whatever floats ones boat...

Your opinion. Now you take care mate because Christmas is nigh and turkey is very popular at this time of the year. Can’t have you being the main meal. :P :P ;) ;)
Hete’s what floats my boat. Going for my WAFL club and saying that the AFL clubs do not give a shit about the WAFL and have proven this time and time again and that anyone who supports an AFL team is a flog.

The thing is, if anybody really thinks WA could have stayed the course with just the wafl and never entering teams in the AFL is kidding themselves. I look at the Tigers in the mid 80s and playing in the VFL we had the Krackouers, Blackwell, Malaxos, Ralph, Hunter, Ditchburn, Daniels, Mitchell was on his way... and other WAFL clubs had similar stories. We had to become national.

Nailed it, Tiger.

I'm sure there are a few on here that still sit down at night to watch their trusty 26" Astor black & white TV.
