DD like Perth, Subi wont be moving anywhere, like Perth, too much invested in Leederville and 99% of it Subi's own money which without question we are very fortunate to have. Only busted arse clubs should get moved or undergo complete restructuring/re-branding and guess who's at the top of that list. Cl have secured their future with their redevelopment, Perth the same as will EF when their re-dev happens. A redev has been mentioned for Basso, hopefully that happens and secures their financial future and eventually once Freo Council decamps from freo oval, they will get their re-dev done. It would seem natural for EP to move to the WACA but only on the condition that they change to drop in pitches. The test v NZ showed a good drop in deck can be produced under extreme weather conditions. As for Peel .......wgaf.

SS do you think you can survive into the future if you are the sole tenants of Leederville Oval? I doubt the lease doesn't come cheap from the Town of Vincent.

All this talk about football returning to the WACA sounds like sentimental bullshit to me and more so coming from Christina Mathews in a desperate pitch to justify the money they are asking for to redevelop the WACA.

I can't see any justification or a case argued for any club to relocate and be a part time time share tenant of the WACA. And they would most likely be expected to train somewhere else anyway.

I reckon it's time they sold off the WACA and moved everything across to the new stadium. If it's good enough to play Marsh Cup and shield games at the MCG, SCG, Adelaide Oval and the Gabba then it's also good enough to play the same at Optus. The $ they get for the WACA ground would be more than enough to offset the additional cost of playing at Optus over the foreseeable future. No other state has separate facilities for national and international footy and cricket and not sure why we do either.

Nope...they were granted a lease over the ground in 1889 which later became freehold meaning they own the whole shooting match.

No chance whatsoever Perth moving to the WACA.
Our facilities(new grandstand etc to be built) plus Bob Shields i imagine would never entertain a move to the WACA let alone the members voting for a move.
