I seem to recall some years back there was talk of a south west team entering the Wafl and thus creating a ten team competition. Apparently it deemed as "too expensive" to expand the Wafl out to 10 teams everyone was told. Now the possibility of an eleven team competition surely will not eventuate.
Either one Wafl club is going to drop off the radar. Whether the club simply folds or goes to the amatuers, who knows? Or some kind of merger between two Wafl clubs will need to happen.

I think the WAFL can accomodate 11 teams, I mean we had an 8 team competition for how many decades with half to a third of the population so we must have higher participation than say 30, 40, 50 years ago. But then there are more sports available on a professional or semi professional level so who knows?

But there will always be 1 or 2 clubs under the pump whether it’s financially or competitively. Peel if they break the alignment will be cock a hoop for a while until the bank account filled by Fremantle runs dry and the same old problems raise their head again.

Neither the eagles or Freo should have a team in the WAFL they should play in the VFL yes they would have to fly extra players every second week or so but they can afford it.Then the WAFL can go back to eight teams.

It looks like the wheels are in motion. WACA got advise to prepare for wafl games.

The view is East Perth and Perth will co share the WACA. West Perth will co share Leederville oval with Subiaco.

I'm not sure where you're getting your mail from Durtle but a small fortune has just been spent upgrading facilities at Arena Jerkalup aka Part X Park.

No chance. Perth’s future is secure at Lathlain Park for generations to come and the WAFL will not abandon Joondalup and a northern corridor presence. Whether or not that’s WP down the track or Subiaco or EP relocating or a new team up there remains to be seen.

Perth will need to find a temporary home when our old facilities are bowled over similar to what Claremont had to do but I doubt the “New WACA” will be ready before then. Will the new WACA have drop in pitches or do we just accept a concrete centre square and serious injuries as a result and probably a mud heap in winter?
