Fremantle Oval figures are hard to believe for this season.
I think in 2017 Souths Home matches showed 23 and a half thousand which I thought was a good turn out.
Last seasons total attendance at Fremantle Oval being just a touch over 14½ thousand from memory.

Attendances based on each club having 10 home games.

Claremont - 19,846 (includes Optus Stadium game 5,745).
Perth - 18,635
East Frem - 18,184 (WA Day attendance 5,050).
Peel - 17,748 (includes Optus Stadium game 5,850).
Swans - 17,347
Subiaco - 16,755
East Perth - 15,298
West Perth - 14,419
South Frem - 11,303 (would have to be a record low).

I would expect that attendances at Lathlain will grow next year.

Thanks R.
Adding your totals gives 149 and a half thousand. I had it as just over 147ooo but we'll take the extra 2. Have a suspicion Lathlain Parks figures will grow next season because some Wafl clubs will sell their Home matches. Which I still think is a silly move, but hey - what the hell do I know!

If you analyse attendance by venues then the total for Mineral Resources Park would be interesting.
Perth home games 18635 for 9 games is great for the club but the return game vs WCE plus WCE vs WP and WCE vs EF would bolster total attendance over 12 games.
Whilst Perth did not derive income from the gate on those 3 games, 2 of which would have drawn similar crowds to our first home game, we did derive added income from bar trading on each occasion.
Terrific membership result for the season. Not certain it was 1700 but certainly smashed the budget.
I expect our season off-field performance will boost the club's financial result significantly.

I knew they were bad for SF , but that is absolutely shocking I agree Roman all time record low, reduction is the number of derbies has helped mind you with EF travelling like a busted wheel they are non events now.

15 000 up to 20 000 pretty much the routine and that's just the official figures that don't include the other 3 or 4000 who crawled under or climbed over the fence in some secret spothole
been big world of hurt watching this deliberate decimation actually

Yep growing up in Beaconsfield and later Hamilton Hill, the entire Winter and early Spring was dominated by WANFL/WAFL, especially in a football family like ours, mums brother was a director at SFFC, grand dad and great grand dad had both played for SFFC. All the blokes went to the club on Saturday arvo, and those that stayed home ( mainly the women who looked after the little ones ) listened to the game on the wireless.
Everything shut down at 12 Noon, that gave you time to get to the game, at least 1 hour before bounce-down for a decent spot, parking was a challenge at the away games. In the suburbs it was quiet except for the familiar distant chatter of Frank Sparrow calling the game.

A lots been lost.

South need to do a lot of soul searching about it's future looking at these figures.

The club has spent a lot on improving facilities for members, great bar facilities, new comfortable seating in the stand, and the addition of private boxes, a new merchandise store.

SFFC have been very competitive in last few years as well, problem is everyone knows that only subi can win it and that's the killer.

Numbers will continue to decline most attending at 60 plus in age, declining health and father time is taking its toll.

Just in my seating area alone 4 people have kicked the bucket in last 5 years , no body has replaced them.

Bazza does your club have junior days at any WAFL games during each season? I know one thing our club has been very good at for a long time is holding junior days where every junior club turns up in their colours with banners and flags and they get introduced and paraded around and scream their lungs out and of course the parents are there. Makes for a great atmosphere and our club has bouncy castles and face painting etc...

Maybe that converts a few next generation supporters to replace the ones that are falling off the perch? Maybe your club doesn’t do enough to bring in the next generation of supporters which every club should be doing to continue to keep the WAFL alive and relevant for the next hundred years. No point living in the past, unfortunately those days are gone.

Without a doubt the dominance of Subiaco is the prime reason for the decline in crowds and dwindling interest in the WAFL. They have been dominant for nearly 30 years now and it is just getting boring.
For the comp to rejuvenate it needs Swans East Perth and Perth in the top 3 for once. They will get the crowds back as we have seen with Perth this year. The alignment has absolutely no effect on the crowds falling. Look at the SANFL. Adelaide and Port are in the finals and they are getting 12,000 to the finals and the total crowds are steady mainly because not one team is dominating. They have had 6 different premiers over the last 10 years.
Subiacos continued dominance will be the death of the WAFL full stop. Don't blame the AFL teams.
