Have noticed the total attendances for the 2019 regular Home and Away matches are very poor.
This year’s total figure is worse than 2016’s very low total. And the total for that season was the lowest for many years.

The introduction of the alignment and now Eagles team is having a huge effect on the traditional WAFL supporters who have lost interest, it was good when all that AFL talent was spread around and also helped on field struggling clubs to get first pick of these players.
Then you have the total domination of Subiaco, I am not sure what effect that has but I suspect it won't help the situation.
The media also play a hand in this with little coverage, 6PR dropped its coverage and this channel 7 coverage is hit and miss, just crap.

It was really obvious early in the year attendances at our games particularly home games in the members was way down, even old stalwarts have stopped coming along. Derby attendances are woeful, once they tank so does the over all WAFL figures.

I reckon the alignment, subis dominance and the fact you can get walk up tickets at dockers games now at the new stadium have killed another 500 per game.

Mate 6pr stopped calling WAFL about 10 years ago or more.

The lack of radio coverage is shocking, I don't know about you but I can never get SFA on the new WAFL APP either, its rubbish.

Perth FC under new president Bob Shields pushed for an ambitious target of 1500 members this year and they smashed it. Last time I looked I think it was around 1700. I’d be surprised if our home game average was below 2000, more likely closer to 2500. And think that would rank us No 1 in the comp for crowd attendance this year.

Attendances based on each club having 10 home games.

Claremont - 19,846 (includes Optus Stadium game 5,745).
Perth - 18,635
East Frem - 18,184 (WA Day attendance 5,050).
Swans - 17,347
Subiaco - 16,755
Peel - 16,494 missing Round 10 attendance (includes Optus Stadium game 5,850).
East Perth - 15,298
West Perth - 14,419
South Frem - 11,303 (would have to be a record low).

Cheers for that Roman. Who did Claremont play at Optus? I thought the only WAFL game at Optus was a WC v Peel (Freo) derby curtain raiser? So take that blown out figure and Perth wins something. Yay!!!

I'd be interested to know how they came up with those numbers for games at Optus. You wouldn't get 5700 to a game V WCE at Claremont Oval or 5800 down at Centrelink Park that's for sure.

These games were played at Optus Stadium.
