Yes I understand that...but that's my point...how did they arrive at a figure in excess of 5000 showing up to watch the WAFL games at Optus when surely all patrons were there for the AFL game straight after. By comparison Cl played WCER at Claremont Oval in round 4 and 1,791 showed up and Peel played Freo in Mandurah in round 13 and 1,067 attended. Very dodgy numbers at Optus for mine.

I imagine that’s how many afl fans stumbled through the gate before the WAFL game finished. They were probably clueless there was even a game on

as a kid growing up in Fremantle the WANFL dominated winters to the extent that entire suburb household streets were ghost towns on Saturdays - well except the poor bastard suburbs where the Ovals were situated anyway

15 000 up to 20 000 pretty much the routine and that's just the official figures that don't include the other 3 or 4000 who crawled under or climbed over the fence in some secret spothole
