BC wrote: what the likes of you seem to overlook 58 is that for the last several years since the mining boom went bust, Subi actually lost money or at best broke even from the seats deal. They had to give seats back last year and the year before because they couldn't sell them. WCE and Freo also struggled to sell their allocation so yes, the club made good money for quite some time but in the end it cost them....but hey, let's not let the facts get in the way of a good dig at my club.

BC you are so tetchy. I’m not having a go at Subi...I’ll leave that to others. Fact is, I’m telling it like it is. I can’t believe that any person could deny that the deal you people got has put you so far in front of the 6 other WAFL clubs and it has resulted in flag after flag. Be honest mate, why has Subi dominated the comp in the past and will do so in the future? Because you manage money better than others? You appear to be too intelligent to try and push that crap. Honesty is honesty and bullshit goes where it wants.

Shut up BC and have a real good read of what some very passionate people are saying on here. If you can’t see that your club has made a contribution to the demise of the WAFL then we are all flogging a dead horse.

58...I'll respond because unlike others on here you actually spell too with oo's ;-) but to be honest, Subi had a commercial deal which served them well. Is that the one and only reason they've been so successful over the last several years? No its not as cash in the bank doesn't guarantee success.. Carlton is one of the richest clubs in the AFL and where are they at the moment? As DW correctly points out, my club has been working hard to be the most professional in WAFL which hasn't been lost on the likes of Wellingham and Xavier Ellis. Your club has struggled recently because its been the nursery for the AFL over a very long time and good for you guys...but that doesn't translate into success at WAFL level. I'd also like to remind you that you kicked 7.26 in 2014 in the prelim against Subi which we went onto win the GF so it's not all doom and gloom for the Sharks.

Exactly and I can see there few who have finally woken up (what took them so long?) like 58 and Bazza questioning the current situation. Only those with their heads in the sand cant see it!

Interesting to read folks comments here......emotion is a wonderful thing.....differing spectrums whether you are winning or losing......Subi fans are winning thus see no problem because is it really their fault or their clubs fault for providing what each and every fan wants...a win each weekend.....also for their club being a head of the game or seeking ways of upping their game to stay successful?....because we are talking about a semi professional comp here hey?

In contrast opposition fans are sick and tired of chasing Subi's tail, seeing them win relentlessly, because their team can't beat them, thus making it all monotonous and predictable......isnt semi professional/professional sport world wide supposed to be like this?.............plus the attached business which goes with it too?..
Whilst Subi's success is boring and contributing to the demise of the comp....folk seem to forget when WCE entered the scene and then Freo....the WAFL down hill spiral was in full flow.....some 23 years ago.....too easy to point the finger at Subi..

..my club EFFC have contributed to the WAFL demise and their own failures by some poor off field decision making....choices of coaches..recruiting players.....lack of foresight marketing wise.....ground wise....staying a head of the game.....ditto Perth too...... but great to see them turning things around.....every club has a played a part in where the WAFL is now.......winners are grinners come end of the day.....and there are two sides to every head in the sand story......just look at EF current predicament.....WP now, AS previously etc etc....every club is responsible and has played a part in the WAFL struggling....failure to admit that is burying ones head in the sand I reckon

The embarrassing situation with the dominance of Subi is akin to the VFL and the days of cashed up clubs Carlton, Essendon, and the like dominating the comp through money alone, the likes of South Melbourne, Fitzroy had no chance in competing for players, coaches building facilities etc. The AFL turned that around in the end with some semblance of equalisation via drafts etc.

yep...that was an opportunity lost. EF could easily have gone on to win the flag the following week given the rotten weather and EP didn't seem all that interested.

Yes Subi have been superb money managers.
But they have also rorted the system.
They have been innovative in the way they have attracted so many good players that no other club could afford and pay them outside the system.
And before you start I know your books are open for inspection.
No club could turnover more than $2m a year more than any other Club and spend the same amount on Football Department and lure that many players to the club.
And make so little profits, those profits should have been substantial if you had not spent the money somewhere.
You have been innovative in the way you get players paid but sadly no other WAFL club has the resources to play the same games as Subi.
And the WAFL seemingly think you are doing the right thing.

The sad thing is you think it is morally right.

I am proud of my Clubs record despite a long history of onfield failure.
One financial loss in the last 18 years has seen our club go from the brink to a sound financial future.
And that has been achieved on a turnover over $2m less per year than Subi yet our football department spending has been seemingly much the same.
Our next premiership, whenever that may be will be an achievement we will all be proud of.
We will have done it with hard work and without rorting the system.
It's not the size of the dog in the fight. It's the size of the fight in the dog.
Winning isn't everything. It's the ONLY THING !!!!!!
I shot the fukin sherriff!!!!
