GWS , that sounds like a decent proposal.

I agree. I think that is a reasonable whack. What also needs to happen though is those responsible for this shit pile - either executive, board, auditor or combination - need to be held accountable as well.

GWS good post: Quickest way to do the above is to call a special meeting of the Commission to do the following:

revoke WP's current licence
invoke a new licence with the above provisions
include a provision that WP's licence will revert to a permanent basis once the debt is re-paid.

The salary cap is an interesting one, Swans had to take a hit financially and lost a couple of top players to $ubi.
Had WP been more upfront with their situation there is no way they could afford to pay the side that is playing this week as they were not able to pay contracts with their own funds.
It would have been a harsh penalty but they are lucky not to be kicked out of the finals.

For once you and I are on the same page MO....I promise it won't happen again. WP should have been excluded from the finals if found to be doing stuff outside the salary cap...they've been sprung before for so called administrative errors where an office girl supposedly lodged their return and if caught out again, should cop it big time.

Interesting scenario AR. Potentially only half of that scenario may be within the power of the WAFC.

You missed my point, they were not doing anything outside the Salary cap.
They entered into contracts with players that they didn’t have funds to meet, there is a difference.

MO Were they playing the old pay the players outside the the Club trick?

MO it seems to me that they were as a lot of their accounts seemed to be undefined accounts.
