Surely Basil and Raponi can throw some cash in, or is Raponi part of the problem? When did he finish at WP?

WP and Subi supporters have hated each other over the ages for a variety of reasons but I'm pretty sure I can speak for all Lions fans that we certainly don't want to see your club fold.

They were great days, I still read this forum i just don't comment much no more. But I still attend West perth games and am still a member. One of my mates is a Subi man and we often go to games at leederville and have a few beers watching the footy in the Subi rooms.

It will be very interesting to hear feedback on what is said at tonights crisis meeting at the West Perth footy club by the board and what the reaction of the financial members will be. For me, the club MUST have known what has been going on at the club financially for quite a period of time but has kept it under wraps which is not professional, if that was/is the case. I also hope that Subi and the other WAFL clubs chip in to help WP continue on. Love them or hate them, West Perth is a big part of the WAFL and to lose them would be devastating. Go Lions.

I certainly hope that the WAFC are reading the tea leaves. One club going under from debt and another club can’t get anyone to apply for their coaching position. Scary times ahead.

one way all the other clubs could help out is to forego part of their payments from the Commission for a couple of years. The lump=sum should be given to WP/Joondi

Surely you jest AR? That would spell the end of probably the other 5 WAFL clubs as well.

Laughable.

A more reasonable solution would be to impose a special levy on the Eagles and the Dockers.

There's not much coming out of the Wafc ATM.Wp are Wa' s oldest club. And can't fold.Maby the Wafc could appoint there own person to run the club for a while. Alignment or a merger but the club can't fold.If so the Wafc has given up on the Wafc comp.
A Merger between 2 Wafl clubs could create a power club to challenge Subi and the Alignment teams. With the zone growing by 100% with 2 zones.

A merger would mean the end of two traditional WAFL clubs.

From the West Perth website
Q. What is the process?
The process is swift and efficient. It will go for about a month. During that time, there are required to be 2 meetings of creditors:

a first meeting on Friday 3 August which is more of an information meeting
a second meeting on Tuesday 28 August. This is an important meeting where creditors of the Club will vote on the future of the Club. The Club’s future will be decided by creditors.
About a week prior to that second meeting, the Administrators will provide a report to creditors that will outline their recommendation for the future of the Club. The Club’s plan is to present a proposal to the Administrators aimed at fixing the Club’s financial position. That proposal is currently being worked on. Full details of that final proposal will be included in the Administrators’ report.

So the crucial date is 28th August when creditors vote on the future of the club. Tonights meeting will be more a call to arms for members I would imagine, so the more money they can raise in the next month, the more chance the creditors will vote for the club to continue.
