Also SD v WP on ANZAC day would have pulled more than the dying Freo derby tradition imo due to ladder positions alone and SD/WP having more active WAFL fans currently SD V Perth could due to Pertth having the most loyal gathering even after 40 years of torment.
Just look at this website which is held aloft by the activity on Perths and Swans thread. Otherwise it is as quiet as Claremonts bearded burbler at the moment since he lost his voice :P (Those who actually attend games will know who I'm talking about)

I did see the Bearded Burbler and his young bloke in tow at Basso mate but yeah your right I didn't hear him this time around...I actually missed hearing him bellow out "Go Tigers...get that goal back with compound interest" 15 times on Saturday!

Good on him though in all seriousness, he is obviously a loyal WAFL fan like us

He loves his WA Cricket too mate.

Piss poor

We can always rely on Bazza to make informed comments. Based on the placings above in the 10 years Swans' attendances were ranked in the top 4; 5th twice and in the bottom 4 twice. Not a bad record I would have thought. Of course there are always two teams competing: there are very few clubs that match or beat Swans' attendances at away games.

We shall see how many Subiaco supporters attend the game at Bazzo on Saturday. If the Subiaco supporters come in numbers then we should have a crowd upwards of 2,700.

You topped the attendance figures ONCE in a decade - That's what it says - try to stick as much lipstick on a pig as you like but that's the facts boy.

DON'T YOU EVER DARE 'BOY' ME AGAIN BAZZA.

We solely see the International round game as an opportunity to introduce the game to our new Aussies, not to see who has the biggest dick regarding attendances. The fact that the list has $ubi above us is a pile of horse shit. Due to the demographic at $ubi I reckon they must have a number of stiffs still seated from previous games that had passed away that they are counting :)

This post pretty much sums up why the WAFL is dying.

Instead of a self examination of why the numbers aren't turning up at home club.....throw a barb at another club.

Insipid

LaH in my opinion two of the major reasons why there has been a dramatic drop in the WAFL crowds are the host club alignment and the dominance of Subiaco (due to their financial clout) over the past 10 or so years. The farce of the Grand Final last year clearly and demonstrably showed how the host club alignment has prostituted the competition.

I don't expect the second reason to be accepted by Subiaco supporters but I think that there comes a time when supporters wondered whether there is any point when most of the clubs have very little hope of winning, or even getting to, the grand final.

Another part of the attendances of last year was the ridiculous scheduling of matches. E.g. the scheduling of a "Peel" versus Swans on a Sunday morning is hardly conducive to attracting a decent crowd.

Finally, there seems very few opposition supporters attend away games.

I think away attendances are dropping due to ageing demographic of members, its just a bigger effort for older people and when you get there you dont get members facilties, ie seat under cover a handy bar , toilet etc.

Anyway the figures are now so low across the board this whole topic is becoming a bit moot.

Exactly! That's why I've given up going to EF this year. Went to the scratchies and the first game against Claremont, then left and said i'm not wasting my life watching that crap again! So far has been totally justified.

I will only go again when I believe we at least stand a chance of winning! Call me a fair-weather supporter, I don't care.

I don't expect to win, but I want to know we're a chance, I don't believe we are at the moment. I have had enough watching crap year after year. (as I have stated before, I have no idea how Perth supporters deal with it)

Its disappointing too, as last year I moved house and got to know the new neighbours in the street, and at times last year I had taken some of them to the WAFL. As much as 12 new people to the WAFL in one game (including about 8 7 kids kids). They enjoyed it, but would probably never go on their own accord, and one of them asked me about going again this year, but I said I wasn't interested.

Why would I!!

Can relate to your pain Ruddiger. I was asking the same questions myself last year when I was going to see Swans get flogged every week. But I suppose Swans recovery this year can provide a bit of encouragement to teams that are struggling in that some targeted recruiting particularly of ex zone players coming back from AFL lists can make a heck of a difference. Obviously the input of Crowley and Ellis has made a massive difference as well.

EF have the best record of all 2nd tier clubs in producing AFL players so the club would do well to encourage some of them to come back and play out their careers at their original club. I reckon Wiley will turn the Sharks around now that he has some security of tenure and you have a strong colts and reserves set up. In the big picture Subiaco will come back to the field once their Domain Stadium deal is done but the big issue that is hanging over the competition is the alignment teams which does make it very hard to run an credible competition

You blokes are oblivious to the very damage you have done aren't you LH. Along with the alignment set up, $ubi have contributed heavily in destroying the WAFL with their salary cheating and horse shit compensation seating arrangement that we the tax payers should have got a cut let alone the other WAFL clubs.

And you reckon my comments on your elderly supporter base is the reason why the WAFL is dieing :P :P :P
