What does the ABC have to do with it but if you wish to introduce that then why were C9 not allowed to present an offer

You tell me ? You raised payment and conviently forgot to mention Abc also got paid to expose the game to less than half the viewers !

Regarding Ch 9 remind me again of the 1 million dollar sponsor they came up with ?

And can you say with complete certainty that 1 , they would not have required payment even if they came up with a sponsor and 2 even if they had secured the coverage given the Abcs poor performance viewer-wise , ratings would be higher ?

As usual the conversation here sidetracked. Why was C9 told by the WAFC they would not except a bid? ABC according to Clint on ABC 720 radio were shafted too. Bazza reckon you are alone on this one

Show me evidence of those two claims? Its complete fantasy about Abc, they were totaly clear that they were pulling out of wafl, if they were shafted here they must of been shafted in Sa and Vic as well as they abandoned coverage there as well.

Ch 9 had a chance and failed to secure a sponsor, at the end of next year the contract will be up for renewal , we will see how serious the Abc and Ch 9 and 10 are about a Wafl bid.

Some interesting comments fellas ↑↑
I'm on the understanding that Channel 9 had been discarded from the telecast deal talks. If my memory is correct, didn't the station try several times in talking with the commission but were rejected? Didn't the commission and Channel 9 spend a lot of time in 2013 in negotiations for a Wafl tv deal?
Also heard a story apparently ABC tv offered a new 1 year roll over broadcast deal to the WAFC/WAFL early in 2014 at less than 20% the cost of the eventual 7West deal. The commission said no thanks.
History now shows we have the current crappy television deal. And despite the WAFL/Clubs/WAFC paying 1 million $ to the 7 production company for a service, they don't have a say in how that service is delivered, which sounds very strange.
Heard another story that ABC only officially pulled out of WAFL broadcasting with announcement in mid 2014 after the WAFC/WAFL advised them they would no longer be required. Which is probably what Clint is referring to? Sad to say but there's still too many damned questions need answering on this damned current tv deal.
