The Wafl attendances so far for the 2016 season are disappointing! Compared to the corresponding time last season, we're currently negative 13% down on match crowds. Being a third of the way through the season- it is worrying.
The weather thus far has generally been good on match days, and to be so far behind with attendance numbers should not be happening.
It would be fantastic to be + 13%!
Now we've moved into the month of May, with June, July and August to follow, the weather becomes colder with more wet weekends. This will further diminish attendances. If people aren't going to the footy when the weather is fine, hard to see the numbers being made up as the weather becomes colder?
Really hope I'm wrong.
But currently the numbers are a long way behind last season.

WAG most of the downturn in numbers you posted above this year has come directly from us and unless there is a marked improvement in our standard of football soon it will even get worse unfortunately!

did I read it correctly that the top of the table clash between the 2 clubs that go on about how many supporters they have only attracted 1836 last week ?

where have all their fans gone ?

surely they dont just turn up to derbies or public holiday games or free ticket give away games, I am in shock..

where did all your supporters go from the other weeks ?
you guys manage to get 6k to a game earlier in the year and 3400 to another..

do you know the reason why you didnt get 3-4k this week as you seem to have so many supporters ?

why didnt they turn up ?

Swans last home game had a bigger attendance, interesting..

Was encouraging to see Souths supporters comment on how many Subiaco supporters were there on Saturday, our numbers are on the rise, Swans are dropping. We are doing our bit, it's time Swans started doing theirs.

yours are dropping as well, 6k one week, 1800 another week..
its a disturbing trend that all of a sudden 2000 of your supporters just dont turn up to games...
I am just shocked that a team on top of the ladder can get 6k to a game and then weeks later only get 1800, i mean surely it cant be that it was all to do with the free ticket giveaways ?

only 1800 at freo for teams that also I keep hearing have a huge following..
maybe you dont have a huge following after all and your numbers are boosted by free ticket give away days ?

could be worth a facebook post I reckon.

Swans supporters seem to be doing a lot of finger pointing but not offering any solutions. I understand you look for any opportunity to have a dig at a club you are envious of but its not solving the problem. Rather than criticizing West Perths free ticket game how about embracing it, that day exposed many new people to WAFL footy and whether they paid or not that's a few thousand extra people viewing both teams sponsors and hopefully resulted in a few new supporters. The same with Subiaco's Good Friday and Bark in the park promotions, at least the club is trying. Try being positive for a change.
