The key thing here is did west Perth enter into the sponsorship knowing a deal with channel seven was imminent? West Perth says no, the commission says yes and seems to have provided the paperwork as evidence.
Did west Perth and channel nine enter into this knowing the shit storm of publicity it would create? That's a possibility surely and quite damn clever because west Perth have had more exposure this season than most clubs get in a decade!

Winger and others it seems that there two issues with this article.

Firstly if the worst is accurate then WP have an issue to answer for to the rest of the league, no matter the rights or wrongs of the WAFC so inept.

The second issue is that if the worst 'facts'are incorrect then Walton, The WAFC the worst and TVW have left themselves open to a huge legal and compensation issue not to just WP but the whole league.

The saddest thing about the whole thing is that from talks I have had with a few friends is that the WAFL and WAFC is being seen as not second rate but just plain useless and that saddens me even more. For some it is the straw and the camel!

Out of interest if WP were at fault here what would the WP fans think of Raponi et al then......everyone loves to hammer the WAFC cronieshere on Oz Footy and rightly so....but if they were in the right here and WP were in the wrong what would the WP fans want to see happen?.....just curious because Raponi seems to be held in high regard by the WP boys.

I'm thinking if they were in the wrong raponi loses face big time as he has remained steadfast right through, so bad reading of the situation by him, or a poor legal team if they found to be in the wrong

The commission is alleging that west Perth doctored the original contract when they asked to be provided with it again, that's one hell of an accusation and a criminal offence I would have thought, fraud or something. This could get ugly!

Thats not a bad question Freeze. With no concrete knowledge of this debacle, I would not be happy but regardless, we all know that the CH7 deal was not looking good when they were waiting to secure sponsorship deals. As Winger mentioned, CH9 were in the chop up too to televise, no club whether it was EF, CL, SD would have knocked back $300k, its massive dollars in our competition.

The WAFC for mine are struggling big time, they are clutching at straws with this latest article as it is now creeping closer to a possible Prelim final at worst if we get over Peel this w/end.
