Seriously LB with respect to your 'perhaps the only professional calibre CEO in the WAFL'?

LB that's typical arrogant bullshit!
And an insult to some very talented people in charge of WAFL clubs.
And might I add, West Coast had no input into his appointment as CEO of EP.
Yeah right!!!!
Who pays his salary??
I have no doubt that WCE are pouring enormous amounts of money into the alignment (albeit indirectly) in order to get what they want.
Prostitution????
It's not the size of the dog in the fight. It's the size of the fight in the dog.
Winning isn't everything. It's the ONLY THING !!!!!!

pretty sure Todd Shimmon did a good job steering the ship at Cl before heading to EF, hopefully he can continue the good work the previous fella did before heading off to bigger pastures and becoming CEO for the SANFL comp......Turner being successful at EP is similar to being a Hawthorn coach during the 80's and Subi coach during the mid 2000's.....christ my 16 yr old could of being head honcho at all three places and done as good a job I reckon....no offence to the Hawks or Subi coaches but those two sides were so bloody good they didn't need anyone at the helm.....ditto at EP with WCE slush fund keeping things nicely a float.

I find it very hard to comprehend how a Subi supporter can gripe about anything. It would be hard to find a sporting club with the competitive advantages they have enjoyed.

...and what would that be Larry? the fact Subi Oval was our home ground for 100 years and we have social premises there which allows the club to take advantage of an offer from the WAFC to take up seats and sell packages to AFL games which was also offered to every other WAFL club? it's not Subi's fault they have a historical presence at their own home ground.

Thanks for the prompt reply BC. Perhaps the Eagles will look after EP at the new stadium and we can do something similar at all events.

Here we go again the myth of seats being offered to other WAFL clubs. Perhaps you could outline the specific details of this wonderful offer that all clubs failed to accept. Perhaps you could ask Peter Capes why the EFFC Board apparently took all of about of 5 minutes to decline this financial windfall? My recollection was that all the other WAFL clubs were offered a table(s) at the Subiaco AFL luncheons for their sponsors as a possible fund raiser but it did not involve seats from which to watch the game. Clearly whatever the possible deal was, the other WAFL clubs thought that they would derive little if any financial benefit. Over to you!

I'm glad it was Subi that received the golden goose. I couldn't stand it if it was one of our traditional rival clubs, Subi is a rather non offensive overlord.

That's why the Perth supporters are passionate, they're living in hope !!!!!!!!

What a frigging joke, proves how much money that West Coast are spending and still the assistance to Peel continues.
If only somehow the seven clubs could stand alone, unfortunately that is but a dream.

However, in a bad year for the Club, this makes the $112k profit of of the Perth Football Club even more credible.

Similar turnover to EP by the sound of it yet, the Perth Football Club pays for it's own players and coaching staff.

Unfortunately not as many coaches and they are not getting paid anywhere near as much. Just have a look at our assistants. Most of them probably don't get paid.

Any EP supporter who does not see this as a farce is blind or just bloody stupid.

Friggin bloody joke.

Well done PFC !!!!

No wonder PFC is amongst the most viable Clubs financially.

absolutely spot on DF. i guess that's the difference between someone who is a passionate supporter of a traditional WAFL club who struggles year in year out to balance the books and try to get some success on the field and the supporter of a club who would rather take the easy way out by prostituting themselves to an AFL club. I know which team I'd rather support...gives me the mighty Dees any day over the turn coat filth.

I find it pretty ironic a Subi supporter commenting on daily battles for WAFL clubs to stay financially viable in the present climate. And before you harp on Subiacos financial history of hardship in the 70's and 80's BC, its completley irrellevant to the modern era post AFL that WAFL clubs are now forced to operate in.

I can tell you , winning two flags for SFFC did us no favours at all financially, there was a time when a flag was money in the bank , I can cofirm that it costs us money winning them, we were left with an empty bank account after a good era on the field, player payments extra staff etc sees to that, there is no money in winning flags anymore for WAFL clubs..

We are now up shit creek on the books, personally I would much rather have a strong finacially viable club that can keep the doors open , than winning a flag year in year out, its all very well to have that cup in the cupboard , but if the for sale sign is up the following season , wtf is point?? aaprt from the Bailiff having something to flog at the debtors auction.

If EP survive and become viable then good on them, there are several WAFL clubs that might not get that chance.

Custy..it's my understanding ALL clubs were offered the same deal by the WAFC but only Subi could provide a venue near enough to the ground which allowed lunch before the game, drinks at half time and somewhere to kick on after the game and therefore made it attractive to AFL supporters. Other clubs would have had to take their guests off site in buses or the like which they deemed unworkable. Is that Subi's fault or just one of those things? Criticise Subi over the arrangement if you like but you might want to do the same with the ferals for not distributing their new found largesse coming from west coast...or the bogans for getting zillions from BHPB.
