It would be, the problem is determining the best timeslot for it. Wednesday night? It could easily go for an hour when you consider 20 minutes to review games, 10-15 minutes to preview, 5 minutes about things affecting the comp or what's happening at clubs like fundraisers and gala nights etc..., could even have a 5 minute segment about things in the ammos, interviews with coaches after the game and also packages that get put together, player milestone interviews. The West Australian could come on board and like the Lou Richards Medal on The Sunday Footy Show could have votes after the game, done by the coaches and the player at the end of the season gets the WAFL Player of the year.

There's plenty of ideas, but like most things in the WAFL need the people to make it work and promote, promote, promote.

The comp can get better and if done right can be sustained. Bottom line is they have to make the right decisions so this competition can grow and get the bigger numbers to the game. The alignment is here to stay so lets try and make the most of it so the 7 un-aligned clubs can get stronger and be sustainable. With the corporate backing of the AFL I would like to see how the WAFL can get in on this to a certain extent to get more funds into the competition.

Last year 7/9 clubs operated at a financial loss. By 2025 the aim should be to reduce this to 1-2 clubs or better none.

The old access 31 tv station had the right idea but sadly is no more! :( From memory shown on a Wednesday?
I cannot understand why one of the broadcasters did not televise a Wafl type football show when access 31 went down the gurgler?
But no - they are too busy showing crap.
Believe me, there will be a million and one reasons why a show can't be broadcast and all the stupid reasons will be used. I guess it's all too late now..

i used to love the early sunday morning footy reply and panel show. gary carvolth used to run the show, he was the voice of footy in those heydays. great times.

i actually miss the saturday morning 6PR footy world panel show reply. this show was recorded from differnet pubs around town every friday, and replayed saturday mornings. i loved waking up to that. it got you really excited about the footy. Wattsy, Toddy, Browny, etc etc was classic entertainment. Now we get Langdon & Hagdorn, its depressing really.

I agree Jardine I turn the radio over to the ABC whenever I hear that negative pr!ck Hackdorn's voice on 6PR!
Other than having a good face for radio why on earth 6PR persist with Hackdorn has me beat!!

yes mr.hutton, i have been an ABCradio listener saturday mornings for a long time. probably since georgie G passed away. the ABC are quite good. easy programme to listen too. I used to love listening to Geoff Christian on the ABC too. they seem to have an ethical quality about the way they broadcast, and i feel Geoff Christian left that legacy that still lives on at the ABC. good on them.

Ch 2 had a great Sunday Replay show in the post Eagles era in the late 80's early 90's hosted by Trevor Jenkins. It covered highlights from 2 games at one stage.

There is no chance of Commercial TV picking up WAFL now with the collapse of talks with Ch 9, a sponsor for the 1 Million required to cover costs could not be found.

The only hope is tha ABC TV can hang in there for another season, at the moment the WAFC pay the ABC $20,000 to do it, They will have to throw a lot more money at the ABC ro convince them to hang in there. To be honest I think this is the best way to convice them to stay on. If they pay $100,000 a year it would be worth it I guess , after that Im not sure.

Or WAFC approach foxtel and seek a commercial deal, pay a video company tape a game and play it as a highlights replay on Fox.

6PR really need to have a long hard look at themselves having Hagdorn on , he is a shocker, I cannot stand his stupid Saturday and even worst Sunday with maumill ( has turned it into the dockers hour ) morning segments..I flick them over to ABC now the panel is far better Stan Alves etc.

Saturday morning on the ABC is good but gee that Corbin Middlemass is an opinionated little prick. He was the only one at the ABC who acually agreed with the AFL taking over the WAFL with the alignment issue. Last week he was arguing strongly about the AFL made the right decision to play the final at Kardinia Park. Even most Victorians don't agree with that move but good old Corbin thought it was perfectly ok.

Not sure of others thoughts, it's good the local footy is back on abc tv for the 2014 season. High level talks with the ABC on telecasts for the matches in 2014 have been completed. This happened after a sponsor could not be found to allow one of the commercial tv networks to telecast matches.
