Although abc radio has not officially pulled out. Much of their 'Westuffed' broadcasts are a thing of the past too. If last season is any indication to go by! Which probably doesn't affect people living in/ close to the metro area. If abc radio does not cover a game, the statewide audience is lost.

I was listening to Sports FM Saturday around midday and they were broadcasting the WACA first grade game from Fletcher Park and had a chat to Chris Mitsopolous who seemed to be talking as if he was ready and fired up to go about the WAFL season. had a chat about Perth and signings of Reimers and Bateman. Didn't mention anything about not doing the WAFL put it that way.

I have the right station don't I? Colin Minson etc? 91.3FM

On the back of todays The Weekend West

WAFL TV JACKPOT

The WAFL match of the round would be played at the WACA ground next year under proposal to broadcast the league on commercial television.

What the??? Did i read this correctly?? WAFC to PAY channel 9 for the production costs??!!! You have GOT to be kidding right! Does the AFL pay 7, 9, 10, fox to produce their telecasts?!! $800,000 per year. will this mean channel 9 will have to pay companies to advertise during the telecasts? What a crock. Bash the telecasts where they fit i say. Most games of the round will end up being wce and freo res teams anyway. guarantee it!!!!

Nothing surprises me with WA footy anymore but the headline on the back of yesterdays west still made me look twice.

Why the **** would channel 9 want to broadcast a game of the week to be played at the waca? The idea is so unbelievably stupid that I can only presume Trevor Nesbitt is behind it in his attempts to finally kill the wafl. There would be nobody at the game! It is the wafl for god's sake. People aren't going to travel to the city to watch a game of wafl. The whole concept is so moronic it doesn't bear thinking about. Say, for example, Swans played West Perth at Basso on a nice sunny day and got 4000. What are the odds of that same game being played at the waca getting the same crowd? None at all. There's be lucky if there's 500.

Is it just me or is there something in the water making people more stupid.

If anyone has any doubts that the level of journalism in the West Australian could not get any lower, rest assured it can. The headline and the actual article would be acceptable for a grade 3 student. How anyone could think that what was suggested would be beneficial to the WAFL clubs is, at best, delusional. Someone should also suggest to those august journalists to go to the WACA and measure the ground.

Should we expect anything better from the West? SADLY NO.

Channel 9 may not be keen on east perth games as they will be showing the sponsor 7west on the back of the jumpers.
