Still a long way to go...But bottom line is who Farking wants this alignment anyway?

No amount of money will stop the damage to the WAFL. Lets see what happens.
The WAFL G7 Clubs must come down hard on the WAFC who are treating them like a joke.
It will become a Joke if it happens. The G7 MUST BECOME PROACTIVE RATHER THAN REACTIVE.

So where were the other five presidents, only Raitt & Shimmon represented the wafl. Interesting to see Marbles Wilson has pulled the pin and ex WCE Dean Turner has taken over at the Reagles. I thought graft in football clubs was getting a free hotdog behind the grandstand.

Yes going by the article, progress has been made! So all this fluffy bubbly talk of a boycott appears to be pie in the sky! It appears the non alignments are simply sticking out their hands for more bloody money. :( From my understanding, another meeting being planned for Monday.

The G7 meeting Monday as group to discuss and accept or refuse that part. Then they will move into the nitty gritty...ie no out of zone recruiting, points value, salary cap restrictions etc

WE the members/supporters need to apply the pressure to the WAFC and embarrass them in to moving our way.

George do you serioulsy think the WAFL, can take on the might of the AFL? Thats what in effect through my eyes i see it as. WAFC is all about the eags/dockers ( in effect the AFL). Whatever the WAFC has to do to appease the AFL clubs they will.

Yes we can UNKA2, We have two small groups taking them on The G7 and The Save The WAFL Committee. I see a lot of people on this forum just talking about and no action.
So I say to you get off your bum's and help us, if you love the WAFL you will find 1/2 hour to hour a week, Call us George Copley Chairman 0478 572 654
Pat Holywell Spokesperson/Treasurer 0401 407 357 or call your Club President and ask what can we do. The WAFC will not like this. They don’t want this in the public arena.

Very one can find some time to help

The idea maintains the integrity of the traditional Eight.

The Idea sees the introduction of ONE new team to the WAFL leading to a 10 team competition.

To do this:

Create a new club called Joondalup Eagles. Align new interstate WCE players to this club. This club is to have a smaller zone than other WAFL clubs. (They can share Joondalup oval with the WP Falcons)

* Most WAFL clubs have about 10 junior, 5 senior teams and 4 country teams in their zone. The Joondalup Eagles would have numbers of around 5 junior and 2 senior and nil country teams in their zone. Rest of squad made up of new interstate WCE players.

Change Peel Thunder to Mandurah Dockers. Newest club could swallow a merge/host arrangement. AND the traditional eight WAFL teams could also swallow it. Align new interstate Dockers to this club and reduce their zone.

* As above the Mandurah Dockers would have numbers of around 5 junior and 2 senior teams in their zone. Rest of squad made up of new interstate Dockers players.

Benefits of the above.

1. The integrity of the traditional eight WAFL clubs is maintained.

2. WCE and Fremantle Football Clubs control their players.
3. A 10 team WAFL for an 18 round competition with no regular byes and a top 5.
4. Fairer pay for out WAFL players.

Rivalry round
Claremont V Subiaco (Western derby)
East Freo V South Freo (Fremantle derby)
Perth V Swan Districts (Eastern derby)
West Perth V East Perth (Perth derby)
Mandurah Dockers V Joondalup Eagles (South V North derby)
Victorians still laugh at West Aussies because of the way we bailed out the vfl and then allowed it to be called it the AFL!
