In the news today the WACA/WAFL story is back on the agenda.
Once again it looks likely the WAFL will play a game there every week on an alternative basis. I believe they will take the angle around talk previously about Channel Nine's idea of televising a live game from there each weekend. Outside of that the idea otherwise would be pointless.

Subi Oval will be a white elephant and once Burswood is up there will be no point retaining the ground. The WACA may be a good fit for the WAFL. I didn't mind watching games there in the 90's. Sitting up the back of the Inverarity Stand was quite good. Many people will see the negative side Im sure. The WACA is a totally under utilized ground and I think the WACA and the WAFL see an option for both sports here.

Besides your point there BH ...... all good here , move the farkers in there so I don't get them down here ;)

Play , Train or do whatever with the U16 & U18's up there , also the farkers could train the Umpies to look after their bastard love children ERT & FART too - bonus ;)

Scrap Subi Oval & stick the cash back in the bank

Hey maybe the idiots could fixture the two Frankensteins to play there so they can all whack off to their achievement

Agree with your comments I used to enjoy the Ambience at the WACA WAFL games and good seating. Never a problem with seating. Close to the city so a few might just wander down and you have good public transport. Worth a go

It was Perth's home ground for a couple of seasons in the late 80's and i hated every minute of it!
Would hate to go back there and watch footy.

Why did you hate every minute of it? Did Perth lose all there games?

Maybe a good idea would of been to put CLA there to play home games rather than the Showgrounds? Would of been a good trial. But then again not many turn up for CLA games anyway :(

Thought that was pretty much the best and most common sense article on this whole issue I have seen for a long time, for once the blindingly obvious is being discussed.

WAFL at the WACA is a good idea, I remember when they played there in the 80's and thought it went well, the WACA is much smaller now so ideally suited to WAFL on top of that it gets more use for the WACA itself which is a white elephant 80% of the year.

Ideally we probably only need 4 or 5 WAFL venues, in Perth, EF will move to Fremantle, and a game at the WACA and Leederville each week, Perth wil probably end up there , after all it was their historic ground, A WAFL Finals series and GF at the WACA is the way to go.

of course you'll get all the out of touch neigh sayers who start with the It will never happen line..there all the same ones that swore black and blue the alignment would "never" happen..out of touch half wits.

Like your idea about the GF being played there BAZZA.. Great stadium and a crowd looks like a crowd there which is better for the atmosphere rather than Subi or tne new stadium.

Dont mind helping the WACA out as well as a keen supporter of WA Cricket.

Pete it's pretty much the same dimensions as The Claremont Showgrounds mate - almost identical

Edit: and come to think of it now - the MCG ;)
