Would they look for an experienced WAFL assistant, a recently retired player with coaching aspirations or someone from outside WA. It will probably have to be someone with a player development focus given the turnover of players that the Tigers are having.

I have no idea so far. I imagine Adam Pickering may apply? As a smoky I think clay mclernon may be thrown in the deep end, Webb got the job after only 1 year as an assistant I think.

Maybe Daniel Kerr can emulate his old man with a coaching stint at Claremont! Hopefully with the same results
Beneath the Southern cross i stand, on Bassendean Oval, can in hand, Swan Districts, you Farkin Beauty!

reckon Cl should have a chat to Andy Krak......bring him 'home' so to speak and take up the role as playing / coach.......perhaps his old man and uncle should have a quiet word in his ear about rekindling the Cl/Krakouer association again......now that would be a good feel story if there was ever one!!

Great to see Andrew Krakouer commit to Swans. He is only 30 however and he may still get an AFL offer. I'm thinking maybe Carlton, given that he has played well under Mick before and they have just lost Eddie Betts

Mmm hope he still has something to offer...

His best is behind him mate, was gone second half of the year, slow to get rid of the ball and turned it over far too regularly for a player of his ilk, and without the quality to support him back at Subi, he will be handy but no match winner. Had a good year with us last year and enjoyed his 2 years with us, but not devo that he is gone

Never was a match winner and disposal was never "A" class but he runs all day and is a great linkman. If he's back at Subi great as we need a bit of experience. Your spot on about his best days as a player being behind him but he's still got a couple of good years in him and if that's at Subi I'm happy.

No chance
Carlton have Garlett, Yarran and Menzel who can play the small to mid forward role

Things have gone a little quiet on the WAFL scene, there is the Claremont legends game on today, would be interesting to see how well attended that is. Does anyone know when their team will be starting preseason training? I would imagine that the teams who didn't make the finals in 2013 would be starting in the next few weeks.

Pretty sure the Demons are starting in mid November. I would say it would be either the week starting either 11 or 18 November. Most other teams would be around the same time frame I would presume with perhaps East Perth and West Perth kicking off the 25th November or 1st December.

A couple of things have hit the news in the last few days

1. Arena Joondalup will host a NAB challenge match between the Eagles and Dockers in February. Should be a money spinner for the WPFC

2. David Parkinson has resigned as President of Swans for personal reasons. Pity about that because I thought he was doing a pretty good job and is obviously a man of high integrity.

3. What chances of Scott Watters coming back to the WAFL to coach Claremont? Would Tigers fans think he would be a good fit?

Given the exodus of players from Claremont after ths season it maybe a year or two of rebuilding for Claremont to get back to their lofty heights of recent seasons.
