Also, may I comment on the contempt shown by the umpires after the match again. Agree 100% - I sounded warning bells re the weather but a few on here told me it would make no difference.

In saying all that - the attendance was a shocker, about 15 mins before bouncedown there was only 16,000 people there, with all the hype and build up of the perth derby WP v EP I would say even in really bad weather nearly 25,000 should of turned up. on a fine day nearly 30 000 or more.

the fact is even if it had been fine it would of maxed out at maybe 22 or 23K.

I took time to have a good walk around the entire ground and have a look at who made up the crowd, and if i was to profile most of the people there I would say , male 45-50 or over, very few young people there, apart from a few kids behind the goals.

I think this confirms were the comp is at in the market amd in the public eye, there is bugger all interest.,The docker hype totally killed the WAFL GF.

Subi now is no longer the place for WAFL GF's it looked embarrsing yesterday in what should of been a show piece to see so many empty seats.

I think its time to move the game to decent boutique stadium of around 25,000 maybe Leederville.

The host club deal will kill the comp off for once and for all as a public spetacle, EP will be there again next year and its a raffle for second spot...

exactly and I was netrual although our colts and reserves were in I went up and hung around...

I'm with most of you and agree that it's time to take a stand and have the WAFL Granny at the home of excellence in north Subiaco! Don't know the capacity of Leedy, but a packed spectator area creates heaps of atmosphere and obviously a better event. When will the heirachy pull their heads outa their arses and investigate this option.
Was I hearing things during the week when I heard on the radio that this years WAFL premiers received the generous sum of $20,000 for winning the flag and the loser received $10,000? You must be joking? This whole WAFL competition is a bloody disgrace.
