Mind you there will be a more accurate figure on Sunday than the farcical figure of 5,452 on the WAFL site for the Swans versus the club formerly known as East Perth. If that was the correct figure Basso'z capacity is about 12,000 and we all know that we had a game where 22,000 attended for a Swans West Perth match in the 80s.

How can it be farcial Swan, either they counted the people or not are you saying SDFC have corruplty hidden the attendace cash as that is the only way the figure could be wrong...

Simply based on the fact that we had over 22,000 attend a game against West Perth in the 80s and it looked like it was close to half the capacity for the semi-final which would make the crowd figure approximately 10,000 - 11,000. I have no idea who is responsible for the crowd figure. I just used my logical thinking to deduce what I thought was a reasonable approximation for the attendance figure.

Also 42 there was apparently according to the waflonline figures approximately 5500 at last years Preliminary Final vs EF & I would say the crowd at this years 1st Semi vs WCEP would have been close to double that in my opinion. As someone who attended both games at Basso & the 2010 Prelim Final there where the crowd was 12,000 approx this years 1st Semi crowd would have to have been nearly 10,000!

Extremely disappointing crowd even with the weather conditions for the GF. The crowd size is surely a damning indictment on the host club alignment and the effect it has had on the supporters of the club formerly known as East Perth.

Also, may I comment on the contempt shown by the umpires after the match again. It should be added that it was an improvement on previous years; they managed to stay out there long enough for some players from West Perth to receive their medals. HOWEVER, they showed their lack of respect by notting staying until all the players had received their medals. Perhaps it is time for them to walk off the ground at the end of the GF and receive their medals in the changerooms as they seem to need to get to the changerooms with the utmost alacrity.

Personally i couldnt give crap whether the umps stayed on the ground or not...i mean other than you Swan who cares??Ask WP what they thought, couldnt care less i reckon.

The weather forcast for yesterday was a shocker so why would the neutral supporters attend when they can sit in the comfort of there lounge and watch it on TV that in my opinion is why 3 or 4k more didnt attend, the neutral supporter stayed home and kept dry!
The weather would have also kept those WP and EP supporters that only go to the GF away as well.

30pyd we are constantly hearing that the umpires deserve respect. They should also respect the players. Their walking off the ground midway through the presntation is disrespectful in the extremely and completely reprehensible.

With respect to the crowd number: I concede that it was not a good day weatherwise; but you are talking about the teams that hold the record for the greatest attendance for a qualifying game and I acknowledge that the WAFL is not the same now as it was then. The crowd was about 5,000-6,000 fewer than the 2010 GF between Swans and Claremont.

Dont forget Swan the crowd was also affected(weather wise) by the non attendance of East Perth and West Perth Supporters that would have only gone to the GF,all clubs have them they only attend the GF,there 1 and only game for the year.
Dont underestimate the huge affect the weather had on the crowd.
Fine warm day and maybe the crowd would have got to 28 to 30k.

Personally i dont care if the umps stay on the ground or not,i just dont care like you seem too.

The attendance at the Grand Final being disappionting. Not sure of the ground capacity but the crowd number given of just a touch over 20,000 is poor when it's supposed to be the biggest footy day of the year. Lets assume the oval at Subiaco has a capacity of 40,000, that shows only half full for a grand final. Not forgetting the weather conditions, although it is a winter sport.

The live TV coverage doesnt help at all. They should only show the last quarter live & the whole game live into country WA only.

everything the wafl do for the finals is half-arsed, and has been for many many years. as every season goes by, we lose more & more people who are impossible to get back. if they are not going to change their attitude, then play the grand final anywhere but Subi. the thousnads and thousands of empty seats is a stain on the sport. People have Been saying this for years and STILL things never change.

Hopeless.

S42 more unbelievable than that is the 3 umpires not having Kerr or Guadignin in their best 5 players on the ground in the GF yesterday!
I mean to have Fowler & Sweet ahead of Kerr & Guadignin in the voting is almost laughable & yet these blokes also choose our Sandover Medalllist every year!! :S

......anyway, I'm still scratching my head, how Hardie won the Simpson back in the 80's, when Bomber kicked 7 against the Vics in the same match!!
