SS are you saying the likes of Eardley, Jupp, Jones, Marsh, McInnes, De La, Kitchin, Dewar, Black & Meadows are mid season draft fodder? Not sure what folk are going on about here.....yeah previous household names of state footy aren't there in Bolton, Notte, Nelson Schloithe etc.....but if it was truly a midseason draft exhibition game, then why did the likes of a Teakle get dropped? Or why was Derksen overlooked, or a Germs, Free, Edwards, Baskerville, McQuilken type youngster not selected.?....

Out of that list only Florenca, Giro, Rogers, Byrne, Brayshaw, Turner and Strom would be considered mid season bait.... the rest are either too old, had their chance or been over looked year in and year out draft wise......can only pick 22 at the end of the day I guess.

Bolton and Schloithe both overloooked but a veteran in Aaron Black is picked. Sounds to me like two players that only run one way, all out attack mode is why they have been overlooked.

Really pleased that Jesse Turner gets an opportunity to play state footy. He has been such a consistent performer for Swans over a number of years and his work rate is always at a very high level. I hope he does well.

And the weather should not be a distraction either.  Only intermittent rain showers with 18⁰ to 20⁰ temperature range is the bureau's outlook.

Just watched the stream.
Well the scoreline flattered WA.
And some of the selections were mind boggling.
Our disposal was very poor and some of our players lazy.
Maybe that explains why SA were able to rack up so many kicks.
Well coached leaving, the only ruckman in the side on the bench at critical times including the first bounce of a quarter.
 

Yeah that bloke might have been useful. What was his name again? Always forget. Oh yes that's right. Bolton.

sadly lacking experience through the middle and it showed in spades we were lucky SA missed a few gettable shots 
We were outclassed where it mattered and the backline were mainly good to stop lots of attacks

Went to the game to support the boys, S.A short game in their backline was very good football, possession, possession, possession and they crept up to the centre line and then bang hit a target. They were like ants in their backline. As per last year, the S.A squad have been training since the start of their season, they have pride and take state football seriously. Kitchin was outstanding, Eardley and Bailey Rogers were very good, the rest were just average. Delahunty was not right and you could see it in the third quarter that he was labouring. The Commission have to take state football seriously, the lazy bastards need to pull their fingers out and promote the game and get the players together early. Anyway, I love state football and looking forward to going to Adelaide Park next year.
