What will happen if the reverse happens and Wafl clubs need unlimited top ups??
 

As I said in my earlier post WAG, they could take them from the eagles and Freo.  They wouldn’t mind that…would they??

This arrangement makes a nonsense of WCE stand alone reserves side and Freo's alignment with Peel given both AFL clubs will potentially be pulling players from all over the WAFL. It mounts a good argument to go back to the original system where players drafted from the WAFL played for their original club each week if not required at AFL level.

If the bastards are not making a mockery of it, would be interesting to hear what others call it!!

As I understand the rules. The squad is 40 players. If 11 players are injured and the 12th player gets covid then they can draw on the WAFL. If the 12th player gets injured, they can’t draw on the WAFL. Correct me if I’m wrong.

Any AFL side that has 12 players out (or be down to 28 available players) due to Covid protocols may draw on top up players from approved lists

not sure that is entirely correct.i think once they get down to about 28or less  fit players they may be able to select a top up player.obviously this weekend most west coast players are out with injury and a few maybe due to covid protocols.i suspect team balance would need to be considered.

This is an early Christmas for any aspiring young player, but hell, it’ll devastate the WAFL.
