As far as the AFL list having to be reduced to, 28 available fit players before they have the capacity to summon a top up player,does anybody know if hypothetically they have a further 2 normal football injuries as well as 2 covid related omissions,can the 4 outs be replaced by the top ups or only the 2 withdrawn by Covid?

I think it's either or RL. Once the list of available players drops below 28 for any given reason, the top up scenario kicks in. I could be wrong but that's how I'm reading it.

Just got confirmation of the answer to that question,with Aaron Black invited to train and possibly play this week,as Simpson states that they are able to call upon their contingency players,due to to the fact they have only 25 fit players to choose from..

What about if we reverse the top up.  If our WAFL team can’t fill their team, we take players from eagles and Freo?  That’d work ok, wouldn’t it?  

I'm sure the top up players are more than happy to be given a first or second chance of playing AFL football,but this stinks to high heaven and major slap in the face for the respective WAFL clubs.This contingency player set up was introduced as a covid player withdrawal backstop once their fit list gets below 28,but an AFL CLUB can have 15 to 20 non covid related omissions,and potentially call upon half a dozen top up players,to replace players who were not affected at all by Covid,which is against the spirit of why this B.S. was implemented in the first place.

Surely, as has already been mentioned, the West Coast Eagles should draw upon their own WAFL reserves team if they run into problems with player numbers, and not raid the other WAFL clubs.

I thought the WAFL top up players were only to be used for emergency covid outbreaks within the teams?
But the WCE with only 1 case currently (Kelly) and 1 other close contact (Ryan) are talking about playing some of them this week?
They have a squad of supposedly 45 of the best players in the country and yet bypass some of them to play WAFL boys?
It is hardly the "elite" level comp as the afl and its associated media keep on jamming down our throats each day when you have 2nd tier players getting games straight out of the WAFL system ahead of fit afl listed players!

Why all the sookin? They gave us the live stream deal as a trade off

Then another question arises as to if not drawing on their reserves team, what is the bloody point in the bastard of a thing in the Wafl comp????!!!!!   Can any-one remember what officialdom told us all in the beginning?  Or has everyone forgotten already?
