Very interesting season,it looks at this stage i might've over rated Claremont,Subi are clearly one of the teams to beat, but i'm not convinced they're anywhere near the dominant force they once were, maybe Perth are a dark horse with their quality array of outs due to return in the coming weeks, with Busher appearing to be the most influential player out of that bunch, and my mob with with our best 22 on the park will i'm convinced get on a roll even though we're coming from too far back,so its all not quite cut and dried.

I like others think that Subi are the team to beat and I have to admit that they are doing better with Wardman and no Horsley than I expected, Claremont still have the players to trouble anyone but they seem to have lost something, Swans are for me the big imprveres and WP just are like that paint they just keep coming! Souths will be there when it is required but is Parker a bigger loss to them than we think.

EP are disappointing whether it be the players, the structure, the game plan they quite simply have let themselves down. I do not lay the issues at the feet of the players although they have some responsibility to implement but ........ .
Perth & EF just seem to not have what it needs, Perth especially after last season and their recruiting, without want to cause to much of an argument, good teams promote players and their structures, game plan etc stay the same, WCE are a good example of that but Perth just do not seem to be able to consistently cover their significant absences which is not a good thing for them or the comp.

Peel are crap without the Dorkers and WCER are an emabarassment.

Grump think you may have a few of the Perth boys gunning for you after those comments....those two Perth wins against the odds, actually came from lesser recognised players being promoted  and stepping up to cover for injuries.....that Subi game was a bridge too far and realistically showed it was just an overdue shite day at the office with the injuries they have.....

As for EF.....Yep it will be interesting if they can add anything to the final five equation, would be good for the comp if they can.....but as you rightly say seem to struggle to have what it needs to push up the ladder.....though with their next 4 games v P, WCE, EP and Peel that may change......but probably won't......be interested to see if EP can kick on from that SF win.....could easily be a one off though.....SF to me seem to be the most vulnerable of the top 5 sides at present....SD if their ES boys stay fit, will definitely press hard as the season goes on....if WP lose Keitel they may struggle perhaps, whilst Cl seem to find ready made replacements from within.....

Good comments by all. Yes a couple of unforeseen results and the odd injury to key players and I think it's going to be a very interesting back half to the season. No real standouts at this stage and only WCER dragging their chain.

BC you will find WCER will improve out of sight in the second half of the year when their League team start getting players like Shuey, McGovern, Kelly, Sheppard, AhChee etc back from injury and some of those currently playing in the afl team drop back to the WAFL.
The Edwards boys Harry & Luke have been very good the last few weeks but will probably make way when WCE are at full strength ditto the likes of Langdon, Williams, Brander, Foley, Jones etc
Shuey is supposedly playing WAFL either this week or next.
Also they have picked up the likes of West from WP & Collins from SD and ex SF/GCS/Carl player Jarrod Garlett and Sumich from SF to improve their depth as well.

Bh , I agree about WCER getting better, although they approach the WAFL totally differently to Peelmantle as Freo know their only glimmer of any sort of glory is from their reserves team, so they play to win, they will also be strong late in the season as Freo get players back and could be a factor in shaping who makes finals, even if they dont make it.

Subi have WCER this weekend, will be interesting if Schoey plays and how many minutes he will be allocated. Wouldn't think they will risk McGovern or Kelly as they, unlike Schoey have not been out long enough to justify a run in the WAFL.

DG how many possessions did Yeo pick up in his WCER game?......certainly not 50 mate, and Yeo is just as good as Shuey. You won't see any of that Shuey gut running etc for WCER, just a gentle introduction, get a feel of the footy contest again on managed minutes. Will be all about mentally getting him through the game, as we all know physically he would dominate if able to fire in from the off....but Simpson would rather see Shuey get injured playing for the first team then for the second team.....it's all about the first 22, not the second 22 wearing the WCE colours.
