I know that East Perth joins up with Swans and perth when it gets the later stages of the junior comp and this due to numbers for teams, in the year 10 conference there are 2 teams from the three clubs.

I was told that when the 15's futures first training session we had abt 50 kids come down, another coastal club had 150.

You can rearrange the metro boundaries all you like but there clubs who will benefit from being in the coastal strip and those who are in older areas where the demographical regenerative processes are the influences on whether there are enough kids who want to play football, it was suggested that in some areas there will more girls wanting to play than boys due to the population issues.

East Perth have been saved over many years by having a country zone that has provided many a player especially at the underage level. Our current colts team is fairly well balanced between both  groups but usually it is the SW providing the bulk of players.

We all have issues, the Swannies folk want Ellenbrook back, Perth want Sorrento/Duncraig but we cannot have what we want, we have to make an effort with what we have ........... and if you don't then .........

Let's speak to the Ellenbrook club.  Which WAFL club helped develop that junior footy club for many years?  I repeat why would a WAFL club put the time, money, personnel and effort to develop a junior footy club when on a whim the WAFC can move it out of the club's zone?

Did the Redcliffe junior footy club want to be removed from the Swans's zone?  Did the Redcliffe junior footy club make their wishes known to those who made the decision to remove the club from Swans?

Swan42, I think that all junior clubs have preferences and it would be good if their wants could be met, just like the senior clubs but whilst we have a WAFC that doesn't see and issue then as I sad work with what we have and make it the best we can.

Do the WAFL clubs have control of what happens with respect to junior footy in their respective zones?

Do all WAFL clubs have their own autonomous junior councils completely independent to the WAFC nor answerable to the WAFC for any decisions made by their junior council?

Said this many many times but the real issue with our Zonal system can be traced back to 1996/97 when that joke Mandurah was somehow cooked up
Ever since then some very traditional areas have ended up to clubs that really have no connection nor do they really belong given their position on the map
And in some big cases , those suburbs don't support their "new" zoned club in fan base either
Absolute mess of a concoction nowadays
And given the alignment crap zones should have been re-allocated away as most of us know full well
Feel for the Bunbury and lower regions which is a shitty hodge-podge mess

As I’ve said before you can’t look at zones simply in terms of numbers. I’d like to see a comparison of household income between different zones. I reckon we would rank last. I’m not knocking low income earners, I put myself in that bracket. But kids from wealthy households and more stable families are always going to be better prepared to succeed later on in life.

Was it you Freezin that said our Futures (16’s) were looking strong this year? That’s often been the case but look at guys like Stack and Taylor, untapped talent but both immature and easily distracted and didn’t have the discipline to handle Covid rules. Just saying.
Get on your bike.

Freezin - it's true - all of it.

Let me give you one further example - one of the parents at my senior community Club moved out of Perth District so that her (then) 14 year old son wouldn't be tied to Perth.

And Perth Members wonder why they haven't won a premiership in more than 30 years.

These issues have been round with Perth FC for an awful, awful long time.

You get out of your zone what you put in.

It is no secret Perth don't put much in - the feed back is bad.
