I admire Mitchell, but going on 32 years old and costing 10 points would make it a risk to get him. I reckon WC or Peel could use him.

If it was a mutual decision by club and player that neither wanted each other anymore does a player still cost ten points? In a case like this, and this is pure speculation, but if you’ve got a veteran who wants to continue playing WAFL but at a new club is he not some sort of a free agent?

If your in that “premiership window” and he doesn’t cost you points then you’d be mad not to look at him.

I understand that you are a 10 ;point player no matter what if you've played AFL. I am not aware whether the WAFL even has a discretion to reduce points. It can be a bit unfair at times. You get some players who might be worth a league spot but aren't worth 10 points. Casey Sibosado fell in that category - he was on the outer at C, and wanted to play for P, but couldn't fit in the points cap. All that on the back of just one AFL game. Even then, if memory serves, he only played when Lyon rested most of his top players on the eve of finals.

geez I think quite a few clubs would try it on with someone like Mitchell - they'd get another 2 or 3 years worth and some knowledge
be a surprise if this unravels though really

Kane Mitchell might also be 100+ WAFL games and 10 points on that basis.
