A lot of the Metropolitan area hardly reflects each club's locale since 1997

Yep agree, Peel sent a bowling ball through the entire thing, years of work done by South in the Rocko Mandurah area up in smoke and all the other flow on to other clubs as a result.

Total dogs breakfast and for what result?

The Board instructed Catalano to vote against it.
He was the culprit not PFC.

That would have to be the biggest BS line I have heard, there is nothing incorrect about it The president of Perth cast the vote on behalf of the PFC, and that's what counts not what ever machinations happened behind the scenes.

Whatever you say Bazza

Bazza, that line is NOT BS. A club President is bound by the decisions of the Board.

So what you are saying is PFC are such a chaotic undisciplined organization that its fails to adhere to its own constitution on critical issues that impact on the entire league for decades? pretty much sums up the premiership drought I guess.

Bloody oath they can, if you seriously think a piss weak thing like being host club for 1 year, is anything like voting for the eagles dockers or peel and the long term damage and issues that has created then you fair dinkum need your head read, more a case of clutching for straws to try and cover your own clubs bad choices in the things that mattered.

Yep, South almost went bust in 91 as well, the Save Our South movement came in, so any tosser trying to blame hard times for reckless stupid decisions is pulling it hard. Walker was right as was the board at SFFC.

UnholyTB please expand on your comments regarding any borrowings by Swans.
I am unaware of any assistance given then or since.

Any chance we can have the attendance numbers. Can everyone stop banging on about who did what wrong in the past and fix the current model.
Victorians still laugh at West Aussies because of the way we bailed out the vfl and then allowed it to be called it the AFL!

Full stop and end of story.
The crowds looked promising for the opening week of fixtures. And sadly have tapered off since then. Apparently the average for the opening round being just over 3100. Have been told that since then average attendances for the 4 matches is running between 1600 and 1800. Which is a drop in numbers by all the clubs.

Yeah its a real pity...started well, but it was always goner go pear shape once the "AFL Festival of Footy" got going at Optus.

With a bit of hope the absence of live AFL footy will get some people back to local games..
