The AFL are arseclowns.

Non issue now boys, AFL all the way through to country and junior footy is shut down until further notice. WA govt has shut down all clubs, pubs, churches and other mass gathering organisations, borders closed tomorrow, cruise ships banned unless Australian/permanent residents on board, only ones allowed to disembark.

Pretty hard on us left footers not being able to go to church...

especially after over 50 odd years of the Sunday ritual...lol

having the season cancelled because of cv19 would be a good excuse to stop $ubi winning a threepeat.should it happen would a swag of players retire.tennis is in a interesting situation.with most of their stars ageing will serena ever equal Margaret court.can roger and nadal win one last one even the joker isn't young.if the Olympics are cancelled will we see some retirements.it is a interesting scenario.

Looking at a best case scenario where the virus is brought under control by July or August, do you think there would be an argument to have a "carnival " type approach to the season where you might have teams playing each other once over a 4 - 5 week period and then a finals series in mid september? This would obviously mean teams would have to play mid week as well as on the weekend but you could mitigate the impact of this by introducing shorter quarters like the AFL did?
Not sure if this is feasible but just throwing it out there as an option that would be better than the complete loss of a season. Maybe another way of keeping clubs afloat thorough the tough times would be a summer night series involving the WAFL clubs.

If the season gets under way at the beginning of June, the 12 or 13 weeks will be completed. After that time, maybe play the lost matches (weeks 1 to 7)in the evenings or at night. That would compensate for the warming weather. It means a hell of a late finishing season. At least there are options if the season does get under way. I realise the idea is highly irregular.

I think the season is over.
The virus won't peak in Australia until July or August I would think.

Got told last night that thw WAFC & State Govvo are piecing together a heavily revised 9 game season in the event it is safe to do so
And it has reached the press I see
however I doubt this will happen given the rapid spread in the Eastern States
