He would have not be DQ'd had he played 5 games in League.

If have played 5 games you qualify for finals. However, if you have not played 5 games in any given grade then you only qualify for the highest grade you have played.

Whitfords B, BR, D2 and D2R were all playing on the weekend. To qualify for D2R you would have had to had played at least 5 qualifying games for D2 or D2R.

My understanding is that he had qualified for BR, got dropped to D2 two weeks ago and then dropped to D2R last week. Unfortunately you can only drop the one grade.

I believe it was an honest mistake. A player played thirds the previous week and then got dropped.

Wasn't going to play but received a call up in the morning of the game and was asked to play.

Didn't play under a different name or was overseas during the season and was put in team sheets etc. Just an honest mistake.

In terms of promoting to A grade Dirk, they do deserve to go A grade as they are Grand Finalists in B Grade. That's how the promotion/relegation system works.

Ridiculous rule, if your top side is playing should be allowed to any grade. What if say regular top grade player back from serious injury, surely he has to come back through level, and would be nowhere near ready to play top grade. Under current law he really has no options

All teams playing for a spot in Grand finals sure made selections hectic. All you can do is read the bylaws, if you don't understand, call the WAAFL for clarification- then pick players based on that.

What club are you from Doe or are you an umpire?

So with this new rule, if you were to play 4 games in league, 4 games in ressies and 4 games in 3rds over the course of the season(very unlikely scenario i know) - then all 3 teams were playing finals of the first week, if you were not selected to play league, then you cant play for any other team?

If so, that is the stupidest rule ever introduced.

I have never heard of so many teams getting affected in finals, un heard of before this year I would have to say. What has caused a massive jump?
