Talking about two different issue here KP - the timekeeping issue and the fact that the timekeeper entered the field of play and ran towards the umpires.

Ignorance of the bylaws is not an excuse.

You will find that the umpire included the timekeeping discrepancy in his match report, so he though it was serious enough to report it to the WAAFL/league.

From where I sat, the timekeeper (no club polo, official polo so how was the runner to know who he has?) ran directly at the umpires at the conclusion of the game. As per the by-laws both runners are to escort the umpires off. Not knowing what the runner was thinking but if you have a spectator aggressively approach the umpires full of alcohol, the runner has a duty to protect the umpires.

Didn't another spectator have to physically retrain the timekeeper also?

Let's see what comes out in the wash.

Stirling won by 2 points in a tight one. Led all day with Scarbrough coming back at them late.
Anyone know if the Scarbrough ressies player who went to hospital is ok?

Stirling were the more disciplined side on the day with Scarborough giving away some stupid free kicks at critical times. Stirling did well to hang on in the end with Scabs finishing the game much stronger.
