Experience tells me that as a amateur Club, only expect to hear from Perth Football Club when they want something.

I think Ian Dargie was the last WAFL player to take time out of his schedule.

And when you encourage young players to have a crack at WAFL level and they then get told to play colts at an A or B grade club if they want to get taken seriously! Playing senior footy at C grade level is better than any Colts I've ever seen. And as Birdman stated - you never hear from them unless they want something.

Dingo - thats a WAFC employee telling them that, they run the WAFL colts system.
you would also be surprised at links within WAFL clubs to certain ammo clubs.
assistant coaches at wafl clubs have links with ammo clubs and ammo clubs want the best leftover wafl players allocated to them also.

This has happened before the WAFC took over the colts. And I am far from surprised at who from certain ammo clubs are involved at WAFL clubs, the point is the Club should take responsibility but do nothing, even when brought to their attention. They couldn't give a toss unless it was going to get a kid drafted, now they care even less!

yep, disappointing when kids get pushed to certain clubs to suit an agenda from an ammos club and the the links they have.
ammo clubs do plenty of bargaining with WAFL clubs to get players allocated to the A and B grade clubs

There is a general misunderstanding among the WAFL brethren about the PFL colts.
The very reason why they changed the names of the various colts comps.
The WAFl clubs don't seem to understand that a colts team plays in a division based on where their league team plays.
Over the years I have seen no difference in the standard of colts in the first two divisions.

One of the main reasons colts were taken off WAFL... All the funding that is supposed to go into development, redirected to paying league players.

If colts coaches were being paid 40k a year u would get better candidates. Instead WAFL clubs throw out 5 - 10k for a coach, then all the assistants are volunteers from local cubs who obviously feed players back to their local clubs.

Pay more for better coaches and u would have kept your colts system.

I can't talk for other clubs but that certainly wasn't the case at Swans.
On top of the funds given for development we even supplied a house food etc to accommodate players from our regions.

The question I have asked with zero response is - how much did WAFL clubs pay their colts coaches??

I know what a few clubs paid, it's probably a leading question that when answered with 5k I would have said duh?? And u wonder why the colts were taken off u.

The WAFL clubs do not prioritize development as a pathway. They prioritize league premierships by paying players...

Simple maths.. show me a club that pays 20 - 40k for a part time colts coach.
