Birdman there is nothing to prevent WAFL players playing for any listed senior competition in the PFL under the current system.

However in my opinion at least it would be terrific to see the WAFL reserves going head to head with any of the A Grade clubs. That will of course mean that the WAFL sides would need to be exempt from the points system OR much more preferably the PFL could form an "Elite" competition that could be established to sit above the existing A Grade competition. This would initially be comprised of the 8 traditional WAFL clubs reserves and the two A Grade Grand Finalists.

There would be no impediment to any PFL side competing in both the "Elite" competition as well as putting another team at the highest possible level of competition. Obviously you couldn't have them field senior teams in both the elite and A Grade competitions in the initial year of change and they would probably need to compete in C1 or C2 to be competitive.

It would be a great opportunity for comparison. I have no doubt that any of the top five A Grade teams could match it with the current WAFL reserves sides and it may make an opportunity for sides like North Beach and others to eventually have their own League team in the WAFL league if as I suspect will be the case the WAFL will very soon have to become a more grass roots competition.
