I have been told in Wafl football legend.1968 second semi final East Perth player Mark Odogahue kick 6 goals from the wing.Start on the 68 GF Mal Atwell cleaned up MO with a ripper shirt front.Broke his collar bone....David Miers was a brutal player...Steven Michaels hit like a pack of bricks but legal within the rules.

I remember the games between East Perth & West Perth!

The Cardies supporters used to hate mostly.

(1) Mal Brown
(2) Mal Atwell

East Perth supporters felt likewise about Ray Lucev and John Wynne.

Big difference between dirty and tough, but in regards to tough my Father in law, an east freo man, has often spoken about how tough Mal Atwell was.

The poor bloke had a crook leg and couldn't get out of the way quick enough and Bushell pushed him fair in the middle of the back and over the fence. The germ got a couple of weeks for it too and then Laurie Keene ironed him out in the first few minutes of the '86 GF....karma I call it.

A shirt front by a player called Ian Dargie.

Phil Read another dirty prick

Big difference between dirty and tough, Atwell, Brown, Michael even Boucher all hard men who all would stand toe to to toe if required, all dished out hard bumps and tackles although TI's coat hanger at Lotons on an EP player was a bit mmmm unfortunate. Not sure that Devon Perry ever hit anyone from behind so bit unfair to call him anything other than hard

Dirty players _ Meirs for his hit from behind on Russell Sparks is the most cowardly thing I ever saw, Trizzie Lawrence for ankle taps, Heatleys hit in Barnard in a pack when no one was looking.

Ron Boucher without a doubt the dirtiest player I've ever seen but I was happy he was on our side when we played the Vic's pushing Don Scott and others around.
Get on your bike.
It was Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve.

That sums it up mate - it's why I used to the term Brutal streak , Devan Perry wasn't shy on swinging arms at the bottom of congested packs , ask a few of the Claremont lads who came up against him ;)

Brad Shine would have to be the dirtiest plaver I have seen. Ran on his knees and then face during most of his career. Rumour has it they invented Cold Power trying to come up with a solution to clean his guernsey and shorts before the next match:blink:
