I was having a bit of fun with Bazza over on the statue thread when it got me thinking about the biggest grub to play WAFL over the last say 40 years. For mine it would be a toss up between John Wynne, Frank Bucknell, Basil Campbell and an honorary mention to Chris Billings after having his licence to play withdrawn. I'd be interested in the thoughts of others.

Not in the same breath as legendaries such as Jack Sheedy , Wilson Onions , Mal Atwell and co but seeing as 1977 was his last season Mal Brown had a brutal streak , Ronnie Boucher had one too even Graham Moss didn't mind mixing it - worst of the latter day was Devan Perry

agree Southerner although I didn't see the likes of Sheedy and co that you've mentioned play but they did have fearsome reputations...along with Trizzie Lawrence and Mike Regan.

Two others skipped my memory - Dale Reeves & Mark Jackson

Dale Reeves was probably more dumb than dirty..how could anyone confuse Wayne Cormack for Brian Peake.....perhaps it wasn't stupidity on Reeves behalf.....maybe fear played funny beggars with Dale's eyesight..... Bomber was at least 20kgs heavier than Cormack...

Bushell was a dirty player....but then again neither of the Taylor boys are overly scary.... which one was it that Bushell shoved into the fence again?

Used to love watching Robbie and Tony Solin go about their footy.....esp when playing for EF!

Bushell pushed a Subi trainer over the fence. The poor bloke had a crook leg and couldn't get out of the way quick enough and Bushell pushed him fair in the middle of the back and over the fence. The germ got a couple of weeks for it too and then Laurie Keene ironed him out in the first few minutes of the '86 GF....karma I call it.

BC...whilst I agree Bushell deserved karma and was a grub... Keene was 200cm / 100 plus kg and Bushell was 180 cm and 70 odd kg.... ...yep big Laurie was the enforcer of all enforcers.....LOL

The interestting thing about the Keene/ Bushell thuggery was that Laurence Keene got away with it without being suspended, as I re-call.
