how many times has day light saving in this state been defeatted? In truth, I am unable to remember, but one thing to keep in mind is that last time it was defeatted by the biggest margin ever in all the referenda. The frightening thing is that it does not seem to matter how many referenda the opponents of daylight saving win, as far as the other side is concerned, they only have to win once and we are stuck with it.

What strategy would that be Grassy?

For God sake do you need permission to set your alarm an hour earlier? Start work an hour earlier so you can knock off an hour earlier. Not that difficult.

In saying that I do not support Roe 8, and my local good for nothing council actually did worthwhile and has come out against it.

The stadium, hospitals, trains, roads, cops, constant source of whinging - they should try living elsewhere - we are bloody lucky to live here.

As for day light saving, fark me how many votes do we have to have on it. In my life it has been on and off for decades. Personally I am not a fan of it, its totally unsuited to the WA climate, fine for cooler places, but when you have a 40 deg day and a run of hot weather its pretty ordinary, as the day is just to long and hot, getting home when its cranking at the hottest part of the day, on a hot Perth day you seek relief at sunset not to make the day longer.

Daylight saving was invented in England - summer time , in a piss weak climate that never gets above 25 deg, fine for there but totally unsuited to a hotter climate.

In saying that - if the majority voted for it, I would accept it and live with it and not whinge.

Doesnt suit a place with a Mediterranean climate when the sun will sink in the west at about 7.30 tonight.

Pretty sure mate many a construction worker in the UK/ Ireland and Europe have just as early starts in the dark during the winter months and continue on working when it gets dark again at 3pm....yeah it might not be 38 degrees, but surely working in minus 5 degrees is just as uncomfortable!

.but I agree in a place which gets plenty of sun already, why want more?.....Over here in NZ its a godsend having sunlit late evenings....went to a BBQ the other day and the sun didnt go down till 930 pm.....though 20 odd degrees is more bearable than 35 odd I guess.

Freeze if I was in NZ,uK or Eastern States I would be all for Daylight saving.But not for WA.Did you know cows don't produce milk with daylight saving and your curtains fade also.lol.But seroiusly f\ck the Eastern States and the CCi.Last referdum was 59 v 41.it got flogged again.
