Great team performance by the Aussie bowling group on a pretty flat pitch. Nathan Lyon is certainly back close to his best and his last over of the day was just unbelieveable. De Kock was very lucky not to get out to any of those last three balls that turned a mile. As a unit, the bowlers kept the pressure on the SA batsmen in a way that just didn't happen in the first two tests. Bird was very unlucky not to get a few wickets as well.

Now they need to finish it off tomorrow so that our batsmen don't have to chase any more than 150. The Proteas bat right down to number 11 and De Kock can score runs very quickly.

It will be interesting to see Smiths tactics in the morning with 10 overs to go to the new ball. Will he go for the jugular with Starc and Hazlewood or will he try and put a holding pattern on the scoring with Lyon and wait till the 80th over to go on the attack? My feeling is that he needs to try and get wickets from the start tomorrow and not let the dangerous De Cock settle.

From South Africas point of view I think they have been slightly off in both batting and bowling in this game which is understandable given they have already won the series, so the Aussie performance in this game needs to be kept in perspective.

Mikeh Aust has never been white washed at home....so I reckon that would of been a huge incentive for the SA team.....so dont believe their game is some what off because the series is won.....our batsmen have scored runs and given the bowlers some help for the first time this series......thus the current state of the match.
