Yes Falcon, that's exactly what it sounds like..

So it appears under the current rules or lack of rules that Peel and Freo are doing nothing wrong.Last year Freo pulled there players out of the WP final and lost by 20 goals.
A point of interest some of the Freo players are playing for there careers if not at Freo another AFL club if traded.
Only 1 team has won a GF from the elimination final.Norwood Sanfl 1984.In the VFL Collingwood 1980+Melbourne 1988 got to the GF but where thrashed.Crows won in 97 from a similar position with a top 6.So give Peel a good chance of making the GF but think if Subi win 2nd semi they will beat Peel in GF.

Unfortunately I can see them beating WP.
Hopefully Subi or South can stop them getting to the grand final.

gtrxuone: beatifully summed up; they are doing nothing wrong, but is clearly unethical, because, as I say, the rule dates to 1987, when, naturally none of the eight clubs had more than half-a-dozen aligned players.

In my view Ark i would rather see them have a red hot go and not do what they did VS Wp last year having a team topped up with Peel ressie players.To me that was totally taking the WAfl comp for granted.

Peel play too many it's a farce...they play not enough it's a farce....

...all the WAFL need to do is raise the games quota played from 5 to 10 minimum.....be interested to see how many of those 18 Freo boys would even be playing this weekend.....about 7 - 9 in total?.......is that a better number?....or are folk gonna still think it is farce?

The more Freo or WCE ring ins play the less opportunities for the locals I guess...hopefully encouraging them to go else where.....but then is that a good thing going to another club and taking a local players spot?.....

West Perth coach was just on the 5pm news.Bill was not conserned about the amount of Freo players in Peels side.He believed if WP played well they could beat Peel at home like EP last year.

Freezin if your mob faced a Peel side loaded with this many AFL players in finals especially a GF you would be screaming injustice if it is potentially costing your club a premiership.

DD just asking the question "What do people feel is a satisfactory alternative then"...Local WCE/Freo boys staying at their club of origin and go back to the reverse draft for ES draftees to even the playing field?...Finals availability set on a 10 game quota or only 8 AFL players allowed to play each game regardless of finals eligibility ....what?

I get folk are pissed and yeah I would be definitely frustrated like any other non aligned club fan losing a GF in such circumstances....but we all knew this would be a possibility especially after Freo's crap year....can't expect WCE and Freo to make finals every year can we?
