when you actually break down the posters on this site it's gradually dying anyway. most WP supporters have gone with the exception of leedy...you hardly see any of the others like cardy or screemar. SD has a core group of deadbeats most of whom get themselves into a bit strife with the exception of mike. Subi has half a dozen diehards but blokes like whitegiraffe, bensti, subinotleederville etc have all gone. a few Perth blokes like grassy, DD, Mr AFL, smokey etc are still here....you get freez and 58 mainly on the EF thread and your Souths boys Baz, 4eva, Roman but that's about it. virtually SFA for EP, Cl, Peel...for this site to keep going a new owner would have to implement a few new strategies to keep the thing growing.

yes...i'm sure you're right anchor and the same can probably be said for EP as well. mind you if Subi had aligned themselves I would stop supporting the club and wouldn't be posting on here either. I guess it's more the drop off of supporters of the traditional clubs. I recall in the early FG days WP had the likes of cardy, Falcon, Vince, budhaguts, screemar just to name a few and they've all gone. I don't think WP and Cl have had any posts on here for ages. Even Subi has seen quite a few disappear as we never see bensti, Po Cocko, Subigirl, SNL, whitegiraffe and so on....just a shame that's all as they all had something to contribute.

Taking a positive view I suspect we will see a spike of interest if the site continues under new management. I agree with BC comments but a number of posters have probably stopped contributing because of the personal vitriol between several posters that has been allowed to continue, the apparent inevitable death throws of this site and the voluminous political crap that has permeated a website dedicated to WAFL footy. I hope a white knight emerges as I would be disappointed if this website folds due to a few spoilers.

Well said. I agree with you regarding personal vitriol from some. But I'm retiring.

I agree there needs to be fairly strict rules but you don't want to make the thing like a kids kindergarten site. christ, i remember the early days on FG where some lunatic suggested we all get together for a pre WAFL grand final pi$$up at a pub...after a bit of robust discussion the general concensus was it wasn't such a good idea because there was every chance it would turn into an all out brawl.

That was T10 wasn't it? Not the cleverest suggestion I would think.
But you're right that we need stricter rules. That is not to say I criticize Mike or George because they gave us the freedom to be more than school children. I think we let them down somewhat. I'm a big boy that can give as much as I take, but I backed of the posts because I got sick of reading some of the crap posts... mainly from one section.....and that's in black and white . BTW...I don't absolve myself from blame. I had to apologise a couple of times.

Why bother coming to the Swans thread then?? You will find I never bothered going to other clubs threads that often and if I wanted to be a bit more one eyed I would stay on our thread and then it just got high jacked by trolling.

But Swandog, this is not the SDFC site and I haven't been on it for so long that I can't remember. In fact, the only WAFL site I visit is the EFFC one.

Anyone got any suggestions for the best WAFL chat site?
So sad to see this one go.
