When I was 15,guess what?

I skipped the School Bus services available and caught the train from Claremont to town or Subi,or West Leederville, walked to Cambridge St and caught the Bus back to Wembley.

The 1st train rolling up to station was greater by a general cheer, with most of the kids in late '83,happy the trains were back on the Fremantle Line.

Your folks weren't the only ones preferring the car , sounds like you were still in nappies when it was all happening anyway.

If he had of been sacked 10 weeks ago today still would of happened. It is simply an unfortunate accident that no government or minister could stop.

Whoopee Doo.That's something to blow your trumpet about,eh?

What exactly have they built out Forrestfield way.Was that a promise made in 2008 or 2013?

Burswood? You tell me,could they have built that earlier, knowing that was the location of the new stadium?

City Link?Do you think Labor wasn't go to build the same thing.

Ellenbrook? You can justify that decision all you want, but at the end of the day,it wasStill a Broken Election promise.

Nalder? You place any real faith in the Baldheaded Ferrett, wanting to build a few new tunnels, you go right for it mate.Go Matt Taylor!

That's a massive amount of transport infrastructure there. make no mistake, a fair minded observer would agree.

Play it down as much as you want out of frustration but its on Libs watch! to bad it doesnt fit your labor only do rail agenda..lol

The PTA justified the Ebrook - decision not me.

Leave the tunnels to the engineers.

Bazza to paraphrase Oscar Wilde(The Importance of being Earnest) to promise once to build the Ellenbrook rail link and not deliver may be regarded as the vagaries of politics; to promise to build it twice and not do it is NOTHING LESS THAN A CONTEMPTIBLE LIE.

As for the rail link to Forrestfield the following comments are apposite:

(i) it has not yet been built or started;
(ii) of all the possible routes this is by far and away the most insignificant and least important.

As for Liberal Party's commitment to rail transport it is best expressed by tricky dicky's dad's action in closing the Freo line or by one word: infinitesimal.

1. FORWARD WORKS AT THE NEW FORRESTFIELD STATION HAVE ALREADY STARTED, GAS AND OPTIC FIBRE LINES HAVE BEEN RELOCATED SINCE 8 FEB, WORK CONTINUES ON SITE PREP WND WILL GET BUSIER AROUND DUNDAS ROAD IN WEEKS AHEAD.
2. AIRPORT TRANSPORT LINKS ARE ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT AND VITAL THINGS YOU CAN DO INFRASTRUCTUE WISE AND WILL BE CRITICAL GOING FORWARD, LONG OVERDUE.

I take it you did and used the line a lot!

I lived in Freo pretty much all my life and used the line up to the closure, bugger all people were using it , patronage had collapsed , anyway dont forget the line was replaced by the new and first ever LINK BUS high frequentcy service Fremantle to Perth, which I also used, its worth noting that the plan was to install a high frequentcy Bus Lane on the land, possibly electric along the lines of the old trolley buses.

In fact I reckon electric trolley buses on dedicated lanes ( you can get 4 carriage systems) are thh way to go, they would be a good solution for the morley to ellenbrook route, I have seen them operating in Europe and are very good service. Bogota in Columbia have an excellent system, with purpose built stations.

Patronage is no excuse whatsoever!! Railways operate at a loss all over the world, It will always do so, its about providing infrastructure that is needed, the Ellenbrook line should have been built long before thinking about building luxury infrastructure like Lizzies quay which will not benefit the common man!

Patronage has nothing to do with it....LOL nothing like a service no one uses, who is this common man your talking about? The common man you see walking around EQ for free?...lol dont worry there will plenty of common men sitting in the new stadium.

Brilliant! All the more reason then for a visionary like Colin to put the train line to Ellenbrook! (the unprofitable would outnumber the profitable very easily TBH, if there is in fact any others) Small steps first. I`ll buy you a glass of milk when we meet at Basso this yr

Bazza explain why Melbourne doesn't have a rail link to their airport?

Also, can you explain why it would cost more to go the domestic or international train stations from Kogorah Station than it was to go from Kogarah to Kembla Grange return?

If we are going to have 2-3 million people in Perth and we have Liberal politicians who have absolutely no desire to invest in rail they should never be in government again.

As for GWS's born to rule mentality nothing has changed since 1972.

melbourne is serviced by skybus service to the airport, inferior to a train link. Napthine had a project ready to go , but that genius big ears cancelled it along with the road project wasting a heap of dough.

Perhaps you would be better explaining why Brisbane, Sydney, Vancouver, Vienna, KL, Singapore and many many cities have one.
