I think its going to end badly, very very badly..
The impact that this will have on all events that take place at the Perth Stadium will be massive, I am not actually sure how everyone is going to cope.

I will certainly being giving it a lot of thought when I go there as I currently do when I attend Subiaco Oval.

I will put it on the list of things to worry about along with the prices of drinks and food and I am certainly not impressed that I wasn't asked whether I wanted a prayer room or not, I will certainly be outraged every time I walk past the prayer room and will beholding Barnett accountable for this decision.

Will say it again...if people are so concerned about wasting money perhaps more pressure should be put on politicians to stop bombing all these countries, has anything been achieved by it, beside creating more hate???displacing people and creating more refugees and wasting millions.

good for you MO...that's the ticket....i might give bogandean a call and see if Hodyl will replace the can bar with a prayer space for your new found friends... if ever they need an excuse for jihad, an afternoon with the bogandean faithfull should do it. :silly:

BC, he uses it as required (usually 2 - 3 times per day) He wants it, he uses it so there is no harm in providing it for him, hell all it is, is turning a meeting of office room into a space he can use

I really don't see what your issue is mate. If you don't want a prayer room at the new stadium then you have three options

1) Contact the govt and get them to do something about it
2) stay away from the prayer room at the stadium, then you wont know its there and you wont let it interfere with what your watching
3) stay away from the stadium.

or 4) express an opinion on a chat site which at days end will have little or no effect whatsoever but is very much in line with the majority of public opinion. as i said earlier...where will it all end? a call to prayer instead of the half time siren?

MO..at least I'm throwing topics up for discussion on here which is something you don't seem to do which was the whole purpose of this exercise. I don't believe we should have prayer rooms at the footy but in all seriousness don't really give a stuff but at least I've managed to engage a few people in expressing their views on a slow afternoon. I always knew the bleeding heart brigade would engage and surprised your mate 42 isn't all over this like a seagull (not the outer variety) on a chip.

BC wrote: and it's drumming up anti-muslim sentiment how? oh that's right...because pandering to a tiny vocal minority is an absolute joke. does anyone seriously think having a prayer room at a footy stadium is going to stop disaffected muslim youth from becoming marginalised? and can anyone tell me what being "marginalised" actually means? is it where you don't appreciate what you've got and think the grass is greener on the other side or are bored and looking for something to do which is going to put you up in the spotlight? or maybe it's that you are so lacking in intestinal fortitude, intelligence, common sense or all of the above that you can be influenced by the loonies out there to do something so grotesque that the people doing the influencing wouldn't do it themselves? I'm in absolute agreement that Crown should be kicking in big time but that's not what this thread is about.

BC, in all seriousness do you really think that the rooms are purely for follower of the islamic faith.

I think that you really, and others need to look around you and see that a lot of followers of the christian faith want to be able to seek solace away from everyones view. If bother to watch that great and mighty christian nation the US you see now end of public faith following and I have asked a few of my US friends and they confirmed that most of their stadia have prayer rooms for ALL faiths.

I suspect that the comment about trying to great a wider spread of issues with the followers of Islam is not far from the truth either deliberately of by accident.
We live in a time where intelligent people are being silenced so stupid people won't be offended
