fair comment ph...but is there a chapel or a buddhist temple? and what if Hindu's wanted the sale of beef banned in burgers out of respect to their religion?....and how about we don't play a game on Sundays for the Christians amongst us after all if you accommodate one group then why not all the others? it's supposed to be a sporting/entertainment venue not a place of worship.

maybe you should raise your concerns with the relevant state govt department..

you seem rather worked up over it so it would be pointless to just whinge about it on here over something you feel so strongly about..

i think Jeff Kennett has expressed similar observations so will leave it to him to make comments in the public domain. maybe I should write a letter to the Indon government to see if we can get a chapel in their main sporting stadium in Jakarta...I wonder how far I would get?

In my opinion the reason why the prayer room is there is because as part of living in a multicultural society we have a right to try to cover for all peoples beliefs. So for the government or the developers to put a prayer room in the stadium for those that want to pray is a fair option. you might just get some diehard footy fans in there praying that they get a win.......

lets face facts for all those non Muslim people out there we have a bar that we all attend at half time.......so why cater for one group of people and not others.

If only we were afforded these rights in their countries.

I like people who whinge and then don't do anything about a situation, should be more of it to be honest...

very nicely articulated Stanley. I guess it's analagous to people of the jewish faith not having access to kosher food at the footy...I suppose they eat before or after the game and I see no reason why Muslims can't do the same in terms of prayer. as Jeff Kennett said, if you go to the footy and the game clashes with your prayers then you have choices on where you want to be at that time based on its importance to the individual
