There is a plan to develop Belmont Park aka Claremont Oval etc with residential apartments etc surrounding.

Its been held up a few times, environmental concerns I think - given proximity to river.

I see even Ben Whyatt believes the stadium should be built & is the better option at Burswood ..but the only reason he is going along with the ludicrous kitchener park project is to try & make up the funding shortfall for that NSW blow in's overblown train set!!
Just fantastic let's all settle for second best yet again in WA as far as sports stadiums go while even freakin Adelaide gets a great new Adelaide Oval stadium for both footy & cricket!

The WACA is a bloody joke, went from a capacity of 30,000 down to about 15,000 now and they demolsied the historic Farley Stand and put a tent up in its place, the admin of that joint are bloody hopeless no wonder they are broke, and whatever happened to the big high rise redevelopment that was supposed to happen there about 5 years ago???

the place gets full about once or twice a year and then lays empty for about 8 months of the year. what a waste of space.

Interesting John Worsfold came out and stated Burswood was the way to go, good common sense approach.

Yep couldnt agree with you more Bazza a world class stadium at Burswood all West Aussies can be proud of much like the Vics are with the MCG ..on a side note did anyone see the front page of yesterdays West with McGowan's new version of Elizabeth Quay if he gets elected against the Libs design?? If McGowan's & the old fogies aka city gatekeepers version were any less exciting a funeral would break out at the joint! ...fair dinkum what is with these people who dont want change for the better of Perth

At least there is a clear point of difference on polling day. Make no mistake, Elizabeth Quay is Barnett's idea and he shoved it in front of the noses of the voters and said "here, this is what you are getting". The man is arrogant and further proof of that was the other day when he said "when I finish as Premier here i might go and hire myself out to Tasmania for a year and fix that state". Not arrogant much Colin? He is also driving this state into debt at a million miles an hour.

Mark McGowan is taking a responsible approach and setting an example. The resources sector is already slowing down so revenue coming in will be whittled down and how is the state going to pay it's debts off then? Do any of you catch the train to work?

I do and i can tell you passengers on the northern railway line struggle to even get on the train after Whitfords. At Warwick station the other morning a lady said to a bloke trying to squeeze in "there is no room", he said "I am going to have to squeeze in love, i have no choice i have to get this train". DISGRACEFUL!!

Barny delayed ordering extra carriages and now there is a waiting time of 2 - 3 years for extra train carriages. The bloke has his priorities all wrong and that is why I will be voting Labor this time around.
