McGowan should concentrate on other more important issues and he might have had a rough chance of deposing the emperor.

It will be the first thing he has gone on and done then, thats for sure!!!!

I wonder if this NSW blow in (no doubt he follows that bum sniffers game not football) actually has any idea about how farcical that whole Kitchener Park concept is?
Apart from the fact they have to buy back nearly 50 properties near the rail line/oval, there is the disruption of having to realign Roberts Rd, the farcical situation of building half of the new ground on KP then having to knock down half of Subi to accomodate the 2nd half build of the KPS.
So what then happens to those members who's seats are on the city end of Subi Oval while it is demolished to make way for the last part of KPS to be built???
Has the NSW blow in thought about that???
The complete lack of thought into choosing this site over a brand new greenfields site at Burswood beggar's belief just to save $$$$ to pay for his overblown train set.
I hope Barnett & co emphasise the disruption this will cause to a lot of people if Labor wins the election!

Ask the hundreds of thousands of people who are crushed on trains every weekday and those that drive to and from work in peak hour and building more train lines is top priority. It was Labor that built the Mandurah railway line extended the northern railway line to Clarkson and it was Labor that extended the Mitchell Freeway to Burns Beach Rd. I recall Carmen Lawrence made a pre election promise to extend the Mitchell to Burns Bch Rd but Wretched Court got in and it didn't happen. But he gave us that awe inspiring Bell Tower.

I am not pro Labor, I am a swinging voter and always will be and I voted for Barnett because Carpenter had lost the plot big time. Had Gallop still been in power i would have voted for him. Perth could have a waterfront built without digging a massive swimming pool, without taking away a recreation area that is used by thousands of workers in the CBD every day for exercise and relaxation and without chopping off a major artery that connects the East and West of Perth.

Stubborn Barny didn't take long to get this project started did he? But i don't recall it being in his pre election plans.

BH tell that to the thousands that work in Central Park and the new Brookfield Plaza, QV1 etc.... to walk to Langley Park to kick a footy, have a game of soccer, touch football etc... during their lunch break. By the time they get there it will be time to start walking back. Another well thought out plan by Barny and his army. I take my hat off to him for one thing, he tore Eric Ripper a new one over extended trading hours when Eric the Miserable stubbornly refused to deregulate the old trading hours. Barny used a loophole to create a few more tourism precincts to allow them to trade on Sundays and the best referendum there is took place. People voted with their feet and their wallets and the other shopping centres that could not open could see the thousands of dollars they were missing out on and demanded to be able to open.

But Mark McGowan didn't stand in the way of that either so he deserves credit for that also.

Haha you are kidding arent you DD?
Supreme Court Gardens is on the other side of Barrack St from the old Esplanade about 1 minutes walk away ..while Langley Park is on the other side of the Supreme Court Gardens about a 3 minute walk from the old Esplanade.
Gee's I didnt realise lunch breaks were only 5 minutes in this day & age!!

I am also one of those in the traffic every morning & believe me having experienced Sydney & Melbourne peek hour traffic first hand Perth does not know how well we have it & they have a lot better public transport system than here. Why dont these people that are stuck on the fwy on the mornings/evenings use public transport now as the train line runs right down the middle of it??? A fact of life is a lot of people actually need their cars for work etc ..Metronet isnt going to help one iota!

Also DD I hope your fremantle membership seat isnt on the city side of Subi Oval if Labor happen to win the election ..because you will miss a season or 2 while the ludicrous situation of building a stadium on kitchener park & half of the current Subi Oval site occurs (having to knock down the ted tyson end of the ground) not to mention the realigning of Roberts Rd!!
Well thought out by the NSW blow in!! :S

You are kidding aren't you BH? Supreme Court Gardens? Can't do anymore there than sit and eat your lunch or read a book. The bit at the back is probably half the size of the area Barny is building his swimming pool in and Langley Park is probably a 15 min walk each way, a fair way from the true CBD where the major tenants are located. I'm just at the Subi side of centre so I'm fine but thanks for your concern BH. ;)
