Just get on with the game and play guys,

Warriors have a good record over east this year, if they are good enough they will win, if they are not they will come second.

At the end of the day, if we bowled SA out a few weeks ago, or made the 75 runs in the 8 overs we had left we would be playing at home.

WA were not good enough to finish top, so they need to play where they were told to play.

In the second most populated state how they couldn't find ONE suitable oval is beyond belief.

I received the following from Mike McKenna.

"Thanks for your note questioning the decision to play the Shield final in Hobart.

Clearly Cricket Australia has a different view of the playing conditions and do not believe that the Shield Final should be played at the WACA ground.

There is probably no ‘fair’ outcome no matter what decision was made in the case of the Shield Final. However, Victoria did earn the right to ‘host’ the final as they finished on top of the ladder. Through no fault of the players, the MCG is unavailable to host the match due to the Cricket World Cup. With no other venue in Victoria being of sufficient standard to host a domestic competition final they have nominated Blundstone Arena in Hobart. Both teams have to travel and the Victoria Bushrangers now have to stay in hotels rather than having the advantage of sleeping in their own beds at night. In having to play the match in Hobart, Cricket Victoria have surrendered significant advantages they would otherwise have enjoyed as hosts of the final.

It could be argued that it would be a very unfair outcome for the top of the table side having to travel to play at the home ground of the second placed team, due to circumstances out of their control. While I sense you are a passionate Warriors fan, I hope you can see the inequity in that.

Regards, Mike"

At least he had the courtesy to respond.

Interesting that Mike didn't see the irony in his own email regarding giving up the significant home ground advantages enjoyed by finishing on top of the ladder in light of both this years Matador Cup & Big Bash Finals!! :S

I don't understand your comment BH, please expand on this for me.

The Matador cup was played over 4 weeks in NSW and QLD, this was the case last year as well and this was never going to have the side that finished on top play a home final

The big bash was made clear to everyone that because all grounds were not available then the final would be at a neutral venue due to the world cup.

Im just not sure how that means WA gave up home ground advantage for both of those comps, everyone knew those rules before the comps started I thought

Is it really that hard to decipher PH I surely wouldnt have to dumb it down anymore now would I?
Do you really think WA would have thought coming into this Shield season if they were lucky enough to make the final and were playing against Vic they would be playing it in Northern Antarctica especially in light of CA's own SS rule book quote that our ol mate John Townsend has nicely exposed?

BH, It still doesn't explain your comments about giving up significant home ground advantage re the matador cup and the big bash BH. Those rules were in place before the season started.

WA finished second, regardless of what you think they don't deserve to play the final at home. How is it an advantage to Victoria to finish on top and play in WA. I'm sure the WA curator would not pay any attention to what the Vic's wanted.

I understand the rules, but they were written years ago. The states were told that this rule would not be in effect this year due to world cup, that's why WA dropped their legal challenge. They didn't have a leg to stand on in regards to enforcing the rules based on what had happened at cricket board meetings during the summer.

As I said its our own fault, if we beat SA outright a few weeks ago this isn't an issue. Don't worry WA will win the game.
