Yeah I think it sometimes is just the way some people go when confronted by a woman who has some power. Gillard was not a great Prime Minister and she made many mistakes but some of the attacks made on her were nothing to do with her changing policies or broken promises. They were nasty vitriolic and personal comments about her appearance and other aspects of her life. I know politics is a dirty business but it appears to me that she copped a whole lot more of this stuff than your average male pollie.

mate..i hear what you are saying re Caro but in politics, everyone cops it. who can forget some of the characterisations of John Howard when he was PM and wasn't Gillard playing the gender card with her misogyny speech towards Abbott? clearly Abbott doesn't hate women as the term misogynist suggests but that didn't stop her from ripping into him. to suggest Gillard was unfairly treated because she was a woman completely misses the fact she was a terrible PM.

Caro's reporting on the Dons has been pretty much on the mark through the whole saga.

Conolly ( rohan) at the age and Mark Robinson at the herald sun, both Essendon supporteres with a vested interest, have been disgusting in their bias towards anything Essendon. Robinson in particluar has been sickening throught the who saga.

I don't think there's been a club that hasn't felt the sting of her tongue at some stage, but generally it's deserved imho. As for Robbo, when I occasionally watch 360, I often think that with his theatrics, he really would make a successful career writing books for Mills & Boon!!

I have 2 rules in life when it comes to trust...the first is never to trust any creatures that can move fast without the use of legs, the other is never to get too close to people that spit when they talk. Caro fails on both counts.

Peter, I did mention to place my Essendon bias aside when I commented. Caro has absolutely massacred 'her' club Richmond over the years for just about everything. Right or wrong as she may have been at the time regarding these matters, I was always taught if you ain't got nothing nice to say why say it at all, especially about your own. You don't need to bemean people to have your say or express your opinion. She jumped the gun yesterday reporting something that was not factual.... now ask yourself why??? Why is she constantly bypassed and treated as a joke by so many major figures in the football world let alone outside it where she even has a website dedicated to her where people call her out on her BS. I have written to her over 50 times in the past year or so requesting some 'please explains' on matter she has stated as fact. I've never been rude in my emails to her, yet I have never had one reply. Why....well I'm gonna go with she doesn't have the means, the ability and/or the credibility to back herself and her bullshit up. She is a gutter journalist at best.

FYI, Mike Sheehan replied within 24hrs to a legitimate enquiry I made regarding a minor football related matter. He too is a pop star football journalist who at least understands the ethics of journalism and is prepared to admit when he is wrong.

DW, you are doing a good job at trying to deflect attention off the real topic. My gut feel is Paul Little and other board members have come to the realisation that this has gone too far and they just want it dealt with so the Essendon FC can move forward and I reckon they are trying to talk James Hird into stepping down as Essendon coach and let ASADA do their job. I think Hird has lost the plot and he believes in his own legend and can't admit he "fucked up".

The damage he has done to the game in the last couple of years makes the Ben Cousins drug saga look like nothing more than a barbecue gone wrong because someone burnt the sausages.

Poor Essendon if they didn't cheat in the first place there would be nothing for Caro to report, and she will be vindicated when Hird gets sacked next week.

My initial post was to back up Yolos comment about Caro and his opinion that her gender is irrelevant as to why we both have low opinion of her journalistic abilities. Was not an Essendon issue I thought we were discussing.

As for the people responsible for whatever has happened at Essendon, the day I see the evidence that proves EFC used a supplement that failed the WADA code I will condemn all involved. If Hird is fired for Bomber to take over when my stance is they either did or they didn't and these 2 are linked in guilt or innocence with regards to TB4, my gut feeling is I will most likely fail to support the club in future and this is a club who's footy I have enjoyed for years and followed passionately since my childhood hero moved to the club (Leon Baker). I will not stomach Bomber replacing Hird if undeniable evidence of guilt emerges when he clearly has played a bigger part in the program than he ever takes credit for. He was brought in by management to guide Hird, so there can be no mistaking his influence is all over the coaching dept. Bomber is always all over everything despite his aloofness he portrays publicly. He knows now other way hence the early burnout at Geelong.

As disgusted as many of you are I'm also not niave enough or of the belief that what happened at EFC was completely new practice amongst the comp & internally or externally being explored by sports scientists at other clubs who employed them and whilst the injection program with AOD-964, legal or not, at EFC is indefensible I doubt that the science behind it was designed to harm players intentionally. I would think in the contrary. Unfortunately I can't give an answer as I have only limited knowledge about the internal & inner workings of the human body. If Dank administered TB-4 then I actually believe players should cop a season out of the game, start to finish, as regardless of the players being duped and basically poisoned from a sporting point of view with a banned substance if this is the case, a deterrent for future generations needs to be realised. If they did not get given TB-4, which I hope beyond hope is the case for the sake of no one else but the players themselves, then they not the club will deserve an apology on an international scale from ASADA and the AFL for being condemned before the trial. Likewise if the truth is Dank is lying, EFC need to do likewise to the code.did they or didn't they take that one banned substance. That is the cruxt of the matter DD & PN and that is what concerns me most, the one thing that I must know before I condemn my club for eternity, did they or didn't they take TB-4....the one banned substance ASADA are pursuing so one can only assume they have no evidence or have reason to believe in the use of any other banned substances at Essendon otherwise Caro would have leaked it for sure by now...the one substance that the the non use or use of the word CHEATS hangs on....they did or didn't....the truth please from both sides of the fence....nobody wants to know the truth more than me, hence my disgust of misleading, factless journalism designed to appeal to an audience who like to stay up late at night and tune in to Caro's Arrow so she can tear whoever she chooses apart and to hear her constantly bitch about anything & everything football, a game she reportedly loves. You chuck me on that TV screen to talk footy and I'm gonna be talking about the bloody beauty of the footy itself, presenting it in the most positive manner I can, exploring the skill & the passion, not tearing it to shreds.
