Whatever comes out of all this, how in hell could Hird walk into the club as coach, look people in the eye and say "g'day mate"? Surely by now, he knows bridges have been burnt and he now has very few if any mates there now..

Appears that way Peter.....have a funny feeling sacking Hird might just open up the Pandora's Box. If he is not an employee of the AFL they will not be able to silence him.

Heard Essendon fans on the way home today on radio one after the other saying he has to go. They were saying anything from "He's a disgrace" to "I was once right behind James Hird but not anymore". Game over for Jimmy boy I reckon, on the football field his ability matched his ambitions but as a coach his obsession with success got the better of him and he has ruined his reputation. His fall from grace reminds me of a bloke in WA politics. Lol

My belief that if Hird is sacked tomorrow then Bomber has to go to. It can not be ignored that Bomber recommended the scientists to the club after their time at Geelong. When asked the difficult questions both this & last year Bomber's body language has all the obvious tells (twitching, ear grabbing, back scratch, face pulling etc), if youve ever studied basic body language you'll know what i mean, he tried to undermine and get rid of Sheedy in his time as captain and watch this space with regards to fresh revelations about the supplement use at Geelong. If the call i took earlier tonite is on the money Dank is about to reveal information about supplement use during Geelong's premiership years that whilst will be argued as not illegal (sound familiar) will not go down well in the current climate. Won't be a good look for Bomber's resume that's for sure.

Also note that Dank said ASADA should be chasing at least 12 clubs but they are only after Cronulla & Essendon. There is more to come. Hird should step away from the club.

The problem is once one big scalp goes down and pays a hefty price they want to make sure anyone else they believe to be guilty goes down with them. Could get ugly. The thing is if Hird had of not wavered from his initial press conference and taken his wack and accepted he made an error of judgement, most people would have given him a second chance. We all make mistakes but the way he has backed away from that initial admission and blamed others for pressuring him into accepting responsibility and not taken any himself, he has lost the support and respect of even the most staunchest of James Hird supporters.

Dank will eventually end up in court trying to avoid a lengthy jail term if this pans out as most expect. If players careers are lost he will be fighting them and Work Safe as will the club. Then the ugliness across the entire comp will be exposed. Will be very interesting to see how the AFL go about silencing him before he blows the lid off from under their press machine in order to protect himself. This bloke will not go down easily for anyone involved, much for the same reasons as DD explains of Hird. They have already pushed him in to a corner where he has nothing to lose as like Hird his reputation is in tatters no matter what the end result of the show cause notices. Corner a Lion and you can expect no less.

Will pose one other question as a side note. If Geelong are exposed by Dank as having 'pushed boundaries' with supplement use during Robinson's and therefore his time there can the AFL commission itself survive the shitstorm that will follow. 3 premierships will get thrown under a severe microscope in which the AFL are aware that the same people involved in the EFC scandal were at the helm of the sports science. Leigh Mathews says they were the most sought after blokes in the game, for obvious reasons, they were the most cutting edge. If a premiership team is revealed to have run a fine line yet Gill, AD and his henchmen have attempted the keep it under the carpet, how can they possibly not fall on the sword. Imagine the EFC had of won a flag during this period, people would be calling for beheadings let alone blood.

For all AFL followers, this one is not going away, will be in the front of the news for the next 5 years and therefore I thoroughly recommend that we all turn our attentions and passions back to our WAFL clubs. Even you can Anchor, return to the roots, where footy is footy, defined by communities and zones and not blokes in overpriced suits and television station executives. Whilst I still enjoy AFL on a nothing better to watch on TV level, I love my WAFL and get off the sofa at every chance to go support my club and therefore get out amongst my local community and share in the joy. I implore all to follow suit.
