What a farce: an article in today's West stated that 18 Eagles have already qualified to play for "East Perth" in the WAFL finals and at least two more are likely to qualify as well.

How can one interpret anything other than that the WAFL host club alignment makes a complete and utter mockery and farce of the WAFL competition.

yep...gotta agree with you 42...its a bloody joke. how are the other 3 finalists supposed to compete with a team of professional footballers and all the other trappings which go with being on an AFL club's list?

They haven't won the flag yet! It will be theirs to lose though.. Anything can happen GF day..

Not an easy task by any means - but oh the joy of watching a true WAFL team beat them and if on that big day in September a stacked team of eagles players cant produce the goods - then that's the ultimate F...K you to the WAFL and the eagles and all followers of the disgracefully lopsided and demoralising alignment package

Maybe I dream - but that's not a crime nor a refusable opportunity..

On any on day one team can stand up and produce a victory against the odds

Only the ingorant at WAFC HQ could not foresee this. Feel very sorry for EP players because some are going to miss finals footabll for sure

What an absolute disgraceful comment shinyduck. Perhaps you can elaborate why you think it is okay for 18+ AFL aligned players should be able to play in the WAFL finals. If this happens then thr rntire WAFC should hang their heads in shame and resign en masse.

The obvious solution is to change the number of games a player needs to qualify. Instead of 5 it should now be 10 or 12. That would hopefully lessen the number of players available to the alignment clubs come finals time

Yes, good comment. If they play more games for East Perth than they do for the EGirls doesn't that make them more a WAFL player than an AFL player? Lets face it, 5 clubs put in for the alignment and EP outsmarted us all by getting in quick and sealing the deal and sealing their future. Most of the clubs were silenced when the deal was sweetened to the tune of $100k or whatever ...
