In my opinion every club would not be doing their due diligence if they did not properly review any offer placed on their boardroom tables no matter what it may be and I'm sure that was the case with all the WAFL clubs, what they then did was up to them and their membership, whether they sought further clarification on funding structure, what the administrative overview/control by the WAFC & The AFL clubs would be would all be part of a proper business case review.

The fact that all but 2 clubs rejected the offer after proper consideration is testament to the strength of character of those 7 clubs and shows up the opportunistic lack of courage and commitment to their members by a once proud EPFC ... Peel don't and never will count so are irrelevant.

in our case(EP)the members didn't get a say. In fact when we were querying it, we were locked out with no answers. It was only after the deal was done that the club had the audacity to put up a questionnaire for its people.

And I believe that the Eagles targeted EP through the WAFC, because I have no doubt they saw EP as an easy mark to get their alignment back. That would have been their intention all along and I am sure EP were always their preferred choice given the success with the rookie deal in 2000 & 2001. A carrot of $450k was always going to get the deal done. This argument of convenience by those who didn't have the character to oppose it, that other clubs looked at it too, is a cheap way of so-called justifying what the EPFC did. I feel by making a stand and opposing this, I have shown more genuine heart for the club, than those who stand there like a matador with a red rag just letting the bull run rings around them. In the end the bull ends up speared, slowly maimed, then the heartbeat stops.

I believe we are at the "speared" stage now. The ladder position we are in right now is akin to the Bull slamming its horns at the gate waiting for release. All huff & puff without any idea of what lies ahead.

The "premiership" is the distracting clown.

So many questions for your old mate and fellow Swansman Shiny !!
I love you Swannie guys, you are so much fun :P

Swan42
S/duck so the first point to make is that you don't know that there were five clubs. Given your premise is dubious at best, it makes the rest of your comments suspect as well.

I NEVER SAID I KNEW WHO THE FIVE WERE, GO AND ASK BRONTE, HE’S THE ONE THAT SAID THERE WERE FIVE, ALLUDING TO HIS CO-TENANTS BEING ONE OF THEM.

With respect to your point vis a vis East Perth - if they have 18-20 Eagles' players playing for them it is hardly an East Perth team.

AREN’T THEY AVERAGING 11 OR 12 EGIRLS LISTED PLAYERS PER GAME? NOT 18 OR 20.

As to your comment about Swans and an alignment if it was considered I would be doing everything with the Swans' constitution from preventing that happening. If it happened, it would mean Swans no longer existed and hence I would no longer have a WAFL club to support.

GOOD ON YA!! ENJOY YOUR FUTURE MERGER WITH THE DEMONS, HEY! I HOPE IT HAPPENS IN FIVE YEARS TIME THEN YOU CAN ALIGN WITH THE EGIRLS AT THE SAME TIME!

For the record which WAFL club are you a member of or supporter? Similarly, which AFL club are you a member of or supporter?

THE BLACK DUCKS AND WHOEVER IS PLAYING THE EGIRLS. FOR THE RECORD.

Astro
Slimy duck –There are clubs in worse financial positions than EP and survive. If there (sic) members and supporters cared then the club would not fold. Just look at what SDFC have had to endure and see there (sic) results now.

GASTRO; WE’VE ALREADY PUT OUR HANDS IN OUR POCKETS BAILING SWANNIES OUT TWICE, ARE WE READY FOR ANOTHER?

Have you finally got that infamous car fixed yet LeVictim?

Very apposite comments Jardine. When the devil incarnate, Eagles, moved to Lathlain Park Oval what do you think will happen to East Perth then Jardine?

I feel very sorry for the legitimate East Perth supporters who arfe gutted by their alignment with the Eagles.

Yes, good comment. If they play more games for East Perth than they do for the EGirls doesn't that make them more a WAFL player than an AFL player? Lets face it, 5 clubs put in for the alignment and EP outsmarted us all by getting in quick and sealing the deal and sealing their future. Most of the clubs were silenced when the deal was sweetened to the tune of $100k or whatever ...
Besides, haven't you heard of David Vs Goliath or seen Rocky? ;)

Now that is the retort of a bright and alert mind, could you recommend a taxidermist you obviously use them often.

Poor little boy the club really misses you and the other 12 missing supporters at the colts and ressies games.

some of us have the guts to stand up to the club, or I guess the organisation it is today.

others hide behind it all by saying nothing other than talking about the colts, in a vain attempt at avoiding everything that matters about the subject. In other words not criticising and not promoting. A chump.

your doing it well grump.

And 12 missing supporters !! thank you,

as for my brightness & alert mind, your out of your league there fella B)
