I can't answer your question BC because I am not a club recruiter but my main point is that if the WAFC is serious about evening out the competition, clubs like yours who have had a sustained period of success should not be allowed under the rules to recruit from a lower placed clubs country zone, simple as that.

Fair enough Mike...I respect your opinion but I can't see the issue with picking up players from other clubs zones when that club had every opportunity to recruit them themselves. As for the equalisation measures...Lewis Upton or Zac Clarke...who would you prefer?

That goes without saying but it is more the principle of it. What is the point of having country zones really if any team can recruit from them. If Swans don't rate this guy Upton then a team like East Fremantle who were 2nd last on the ladder should be given first refusal on him rather than him automatically going to Subiaco. I want to stress I'm not blaming your club for this BC, they are just doing what they can within the rules, This is the result of years of inaction by the WAFC followed by a knee jerk reaction after the last Grand final

Why should Subi be criticised if the club in who's zone these blokes play dont want or cant be bothered making the effort to entice these players down. You had over 7 years to bring a bloke like Upton down, what is wrong with your recruiting department? Look in your own backyard before criticising other clubs.

How would you know or not if SD have been trying to entice these blokes down from the Pilbara?

Because they weren't wearing black and white last year and will be wearing maroon and gold in 2020.

EF, EP, Claremont, SF and all the others have had 7 years to sign Upton up...why should Subi sit on their hands any longer?

TBH we've done this one to death and you've made your views clear. Just recycling the same arguments. Toddle off back to the Subiaco thread and you can speculate with your fellow supporters by how much you are going to win this year's grand final.
